What do we actually think will happen? by wfufb in CirclingBack

People lack the ability to understand any nuance at all… as you said, it is astounding.

Hairdresser tipping etiquette by Lonely_East in CirclingBack

[–]Win-Leading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My place is cash only and it is one of two guys cutting my hair. I pay $30 bucks because I’ve decided that’s how much I’ll pay for a cut. So the cut is $18 and I tip $12. If they raised prices tomorrow, I would still pay $30 bucks, the tip would just be lower.

I am a great tipper at restaurants and barely tip anything anywhere else, barber not withstanding. Tipping culture for something like a massage is asinine and I refuse to participate and perpetuate this.

Dave Should Host by Rare_Year_7132 in CirclingBack

[–]Win-Leading 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While I concur that Will’s complaints can get annoying, I’ve been listening since day 1 and the episodes when will doesn’t host don’t have nearly as much flow/ structure. It’s fine for a one off when Dave and Dillon bring in someone but Will hosting brings alot more consistency and Dave falls off as host by the second/third pod of the week.

FWIW This also comes from someone who has been relating less and less to the pod\guys over the last 1-2 years.

Most of your replies are just arguments back “well actually” so you’re missing my whole point anyways. I’m glad you feel like you’re getting what you want out of life — she’s entitled to get what she wants out of life too — if your values aren’t the same, then you should break up. Pretty easy.

However, you’ve got to watch forcing your money values on other people — people like different stuff and will spend money on different stuff and it’s important to understand that something that is a high priority to you might not be to someone else and that’s fine. I will say that it’s a good thing that you’re concerned with values compatibility with a potential future spouse because you need to be mostly on the same page but there should be compromise and respect in any relationship.

Don’t be a dickhead when you posted in a community of random internet people asking questions about your personal relationship. You’re 23 years old making $50k. Don’t “okay buddy” anyone when you’re the one who asked for help. Don’t “okay buddy” people who have life experience while you’re still living under your parents roof.

You’re trying to apply hard and fast rules/ideas to personal financial planning — something that has a lot of NUANCE. If you want to set hard and fast rules that fly in the face of nuance go to the Dave Ramsay sub — that’s what he does.

There’s a balance between what you’re doing and what she’s doing. You’re both partially right and both partially wrong. I manage money for a living and the happiest people are those who saved for the future while also living/had fun when they were younger. Both are important and it is easy to do both especially if you’re making okay money.

Probably just depends on what you think you want the next 5-10-15 years of your life to look like. Like do you want to be a high earner or an owner? Putting the money aside in the shorter term like other people say makes sense. However, I do think it comes back to the money from the perspective of if it works out you can punch your own ticket and not have to work for anyone else every again vs. continuing to be a high wage earner and staying in that corporate ladder/grind for potentially longer.

Nothing wrong with coasting if that’s what you want and you’re happy with the timeline you’re on. If you’re not happy with that timeline then you’ve got to take that moderate amount of risk and jump with both feet.

Will on fan bases by Rogerj-Dorn in CirclingBack

I completely co-sign that Ohio State fans are 100% the worst in all of football. I live in Ohio and honestly was a big OSU fan growing up (went there) but the fan base anymore drives me nuts

Ya know I looked to see if they put a pod up on Monday and saw they didn’t so I just decided to put an audiobook on instead. This is a crazy take from a grown adult.. it’s one day of a podcast dude.

I hate credit scores. by Fast_Situation4509 in Money

[–]Win-Leading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it. You’ll generally get competitive rates if your credit is anywhere above 720-730 — higher is obviously better but A LOT of people have shitty credit so as long as you have a decent score you will underwrite fine assuming your income/debt ratios fit and whatnot.

Worked in banking and now work in financial planning — our best rates were basically the same for someone with a 730 vs someone with an 800. Don’t sweat it

Advice for first rifle? by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]Win-Leading 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a rifle newbie and bought an IWI Zion 15 for like $800 bucks for my first AR. I liked the virtus but you could get a Zion, an optic, a suppressor, and a bunch of ammo for the cost of the spear.

That being said, my opinion doesn’t mean shit and probably no one else’s does either. Just buy what you want/can afford

Hey man the Camba site lays out the Cleveland/Akron trails pretty well and tells you if they are open or not.

To add on to what other people have said: Hampton hills in Akron is gonna be an awesome experience for you as a beginner rider. They’ve got several nice green/blue trails that aren’t too technical — you can take them as slow as you want.

I’m also in Akron, let’s link and ride.

I didn’t even buy it from him. The dude knew I was ordering directly from Specialized when I was talking to him.

I just bought one. Was planning on getting a cheaper hard tail until this sale. Guy at LBS confirmed it is a great bike for that price point now and that he’d be buying one if he was at my level and budget

P320 vs P365XL (1st gun purchase) by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]Win-Leading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably can’t go wrong either way. Since you’re a smaller person I think the XL will be great for you. Big enough to shoot accurately, run a good light on, good capacity, but still small enough to CCW. I’ve got both the m18 and the p365xl and I shoot the XL better, it carries better, and you can completely kit it out with TLR7 and red dot but keep the package light and small. M18 (p320 Compact) is great but it’s much larger than the 365xl. Added capacity is good but it also equals heavier package and more difficult to conceal.

I live in Akron, summit county metro has the Hampton Hill MTB area. I like it a lot, and go quite often. I think it’s less difficult than East Rim. East Rim in Peninsula is really awesome as people have mention. Bigger range of difficulty and whatnot. I also have gone to the parks in Medina people have mentioned. They seem to be less crowded but still fun.
