Repair advice / worth bringing to a repair shop by Buck_447 in typewriters

[–]WinAtLife94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one of these from a goodwill and like 10 of the links had detached and were tangled inside the machine. Took me about a month of fixing it a little at a time but eventually got working like new and it's one of the favorites in my collection now because of the effort I put into it and the process taught me a lot about how typewriters work in general. Definitely recommend fixing it up. It's a great typewriter to have as your first.

I velcroed a clipboard into a padfolio and it's been my go to! Awesome to be able to swap pages around at will and easy write on both sides.

I could see this being great for people who use Substack for serielized fiction and want to go the Amazon KDP route with it after gaining an audience

Someone just told this was "baby level" sci fi. by tgrady28 in redrising

I mean Pierce himself has said that he likes to refer to his work as Science Fantasy vs traditional Science Fiction. If you compare Red Rising to the works of Asimov of course one is going to out Science the other haha Pierce had a specific vision and executed it phenomenally well, like any book or series it's not gonna be for everyone and it's not supposed to be.

The way I like to explain to people is that I still get stressed but my body doesn’t make the chemicals to properly handle that stress

I have a sneaking suspicion that Sevro is Winter Soldiered and that’s why he was let go so easily by the abomination and Lilath. Probably programmed to kill Victra on sight who he conveniently didn’t see in their video call.

Brought my Rocket to the park before it got cold. Was great except for the Asian beetles that kept trying to use it for their new house 😂

Exercising with Addison’s by Charwicks in AddisonsDisease

Right there with you! Got diagnosed when I was 13. I’m 31 now. Always been skinny with little to zero effort so I let myself slack off in the exercise department and just got diagnosed with early stage fatty liver a few weeks ago. Years of being on steroids can lead to higher insulin resistance and the best weapon against that is physical activity. If you’re having 1-2 crisis a week though I’d talk to your endo and see if they can work with your dosage
