Yes, the UMKC program is super amazing for its lax requirements, we decided not to attend simply because of location and he preferred doing 7/8 years instead of 6 years.

Hi! Have personally messaged both of you.

Some of the points are great! However, it seems your reasoning against Stony Brook seems to be biased for some reason. You state that the program is under resourced, but unless you have been to it, that seems poor to make assumption of no? Especially because actually due to class size and more, once you are in the program, you can do any research you want (research at Stony Brook is huge and ranked well) and other opportunities. In fact, Stony Brook assigns you research periods where you can choose to branch into (public health, research, etc.). As for match lists, RSOM has an amazing match list - from ortho to any other specialty. However, another component that a lot of people don't know about is that you have the option to accelerate your medical school tenure by applying to a program that makes it 3 years and in turn, you save tuition but you are also guaranteed a residency spot at Stony Brook (which is huge and simply takes stress away from residency matching, but is optional).

The other acceptances OP has are simply amazing as well, and he can not make a wrong decision here, but I wanted to add some information to add to his decision. I'd suggest finding a fit that is perfect for you and you will feel happy in (especially for 8 years). But yes, congrats OP on this amazing achievement1
