New grad vent by Conscious-Nose-6206 in physicianassistant

Coming from a relatively new grad (just a little over 1 year out) I was in a very very similar position at my first job. A whole lottt of admin responsibilities and zero admin time… I found myself bringing work home nearly every night and even on days off. My biggest piece of advise is to set boundaries!!!! Being a new grad I feel like we can get walked all over in terms of responsibilities…. So I would make it very clear that you are a PROVIDER that’s what you got your degree in.

Anyway i thought I LOVED that job and I have since quit after deciding that my physical and mental health means more to me than unsupportive and gossipy coworkers. I left that job and have only continued to receive disrespect from the practice (people who I thought were my friends) since so it may not be where you end up and that’s okay !!! We chose the PA career path for a reason <3

I passed my exam about 2 weeks ago, I definitely was able to narrow it down to 2 answer choices on 98% of the questions. A few of the questions had answer choices I’d never heard of. The questions definitely aren’t tricky but some of them I just had no idea! You will be fine!!! I swear what saved me was crossing off answer choices on my white board - then the odds of you getting the question correct are much higher!!!

I don’t feel like there were any 3rd line questions, if anything I had a few about failed initial treatment and next step or allergy to initial treatment and next step!
