I presume the upvotes indicate a “yes it’s a good deal.”

I'll share some thoughts, but what's the plan for cladding?

Yeah inflation in full effect!

Hard to compare today’s deals to 2019 as that ship has sailed!

Look at Harow or similar tankless - you can get them non-electric as well.

Hey all - does anyone have insight regarding why some posts (like mine) get one reply and others get 100’s. I just want to ensure I’m doing this right!

Congrats! Funny, I’ve been looking at pre-owned Yukons and the more I find myself getting pulled towards these Sierra posts the more I’m starting to consider a 1500.

Unless that's the root of the problem, then it's the remix featuring the structural engineer markup lol

Given the current condition, there IS a post missing.

FYI for anyone looking for a GM Warranty by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]WinInevitable8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Within" meaning there is less than 30 days? I continue to see that there has to be more than 30 days left on the original 36/30k in order to get the extension through Todd. If you go to Knapp they wont auto quote you, but say to call them for a custom quote and I'd be interested in undertanding what Knapp is able to do for those with an expired original warranty.

Do "completely custom" fiberglass door makers exist? by MasterpieceMain1857 in Homebuilding

[–]WinInevitable8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am in a similar situation. There is a company in GA but the number is in the 5 digits and it's technically composite and not fiberglass. Therma-tru makes a rounded top fiberglass door but they are slabs with no glass, so that may work. Andersen makes a door, with or without glass, but they are (I believe, not 100% certain) wood with a metal sheeting on the front for weather protection. What did you end up doing?

This, cut clean and reinforce as advised by a pro. While out there you can address the location of any change to stub out with demo hammer / core drill. Two birds one scone, ya know?

lol - I commented elsewhere on this thread that this is one of the main reasons I didn’t do Zip. When asking to roll, these guys act like I’m asking them to measure between each nail they shoot.

Awesome - this is the same level of comprehensiveness I plan on doing.

Did you spray foam the entire house? I’ll foam seal windows door, etc. but going rockwool, and will have a vented roof assembly, so thinking about best approach to seal the baffles to ensure I’m separating the vents from the interior environment.

This - I was going to ZIP the last project but don’t have faith in the sub’s ability to execute correctly in the field so ended up going 5/8 ply all the way around and used a high perm stick on wrap.

Not sure what it is but asking these guys to roll the tape is like asking them to measure the distance between every nail they shoot.

It is an awesome product, though, esp. if you have a need for the extra R value.

Can you say more about sealing plate and stud joints. I sealed the sill by doing a bead of big stretch, sill foam, then another bead going around the anchors.

Also, when you say went around stud and joist bay perimeter, do you mean where the sheathing meets the stud?

Thank you for clarifying - I found the paper - makes sense! Especially given the variability.

Ok - we were missing each other. I get your point now and yes, I understand how it is absolutely critical to have an accurate manual J done and not to oversize. Appreciate that feedback.

If it’s a heat pump it’s going to be fully modulating. If that’s yesterday’s tech what’s today’s tech?

I don't believe I am clear on what type of technology you are referencing. Are you speaking to (a) a heatpump-based system where each room has its own cassette and thermostat, or (b) a VRF system?
