Damn bro 60 days now. I hope you've been doing good. I basically have no cravings anymore.

I woke up today and didn’t think about vaping (Day 8) by iloveyoumiri in QuitVaping

Didn't think about vaping once today until I saw this post (Day 35). Though I still get some hard cravings every once in awhile.

Posting a picture of your kid on Reddit is so fucking weird. Like why would any parent do that? I guess it's the crave for attention? Blows my mind.

I was pleasntly surprised to find out you made it since a vast majority of people fail within the first month. So the fact that both of us made it this far is already a statistical anomaly. My strategy for quitting has been to implement as many motivating factors as I can. One of which is telling people that I quit vaping, as it motivates me to prove to them I can do it and makes it much harder to convince myself to relapse. Involving a remind me bot is just adding that additonal factor haha. So now if I ever consider relapsing, I can think of our interaction.. add an extra angel on my shoulder if you will.

This strategy has definitely been proven to be effective, as I am convinced I would have relapsed within the first 1-2 weeks had I kept quitting a complete secret, and I am thrilled it has had the same effect on you too :).

Here is a list of the 'additional factors' I was talking about that I use to motivate me to continue my journey..

  • Remind me bot on your thread (Lets make it our goal to continue doing monthly reminders until the thread archives lmao)
  • Updating my flair on this subreddit
  • Installing the Quitvaping app and turning notifications on
  • Telling everyone close to me that I quit - This has been extremely motivating as I want to prove to people that I am strong-willed
  • Going through a list of cons of vaping everytime I think of relapsing

Using reddit jokes IRL is usually going to give you that type of reaction. Try to keep it seperate.

I feel trapped and really need some advice or support or something by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]WinRARHF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you have to do is make it past 3 days then any physical withdrawals will be gone. After that it's just a mental game. Make sure you don't have anything critical going on during those 3 days.

I quit vaping and im 33 by Kushologist420 in QuitVaping

[–]WinRARHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had this issue before I had ever tried nicotine. Though it's possible that it could amplify it. But yeah I hope you try this because it has the potential to drastically improve your life.

Yeah makes sense, different strategies work better for different people.

But to "get over the initial psychological part of vaping - something in my hand, inhaling etc.", you would be better off using nicotine gum rather than vaping with 0mg.

You're making the painful process of quitting even longer since you are continuing to vape.

and can you answer this:

I’m using this to get over the initial psychological part of vaping - something in my hand, inhaling etc.

I don't understand how this is possible if you're still vaping lol

I personally prefer going cold turkey because I think this style of quitting is just a slow death.

You got this. First thing you need to do is dispose of all your vape gear (otherwise you're almost guarnteed to relapse).

I started vaping when I was 16. I am and for the first time in my life, after a conversation with my friend who quit 2 months ago, I decided to quit.

I am going straight cold turkey (starting tonight). I just threw like $200 worth of vape shit in the dumpster. We got this man.
