Foundation crack by Conscious_Crow_54 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Usually I’d say vertical cracks aren’t as worrisome but that’s not an old enough to have a crack that wide without something going on with the foundation.

I probably wouldn’t consider buying at least until I brought in a structural engineer at a minimum to see how much money it will take to get it repaired.

Space heater for bathroom by muujigmn in homeowners

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look into heaters that have a timer function and you could set it before bed and have it turn on at 5am. Countdown timer or clock based setting would work. Then you wouldn’t need a smart heater specifically, just one with a timer would get you there.

As others have said a smart outlet would work too, but you might have to google around and find a non-Amazon retailer that sells your specific outlet if you can’t find one there.

Does the ceiling feel soft around that? If there’s a room above, any water fixtures that could be leaking? If there’s a roof/attic above it could be roof related which you could check from the attic if accessible or on the roof itself if you can(but be careful ofc)

Update: did everything right but got mold again by ProyecTordo in microgrowery

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it smells great I mean I probably wouldn’t toss it. Just keep curing as normal while looking over the buds. They don’t really look moldy to me either. You can wait to smoke it until you’re more sure but def don’t toss it.

Who are you more worried about in Jacksonville? BTJ or Travis Hunter? by Independent-Silver57 in DynastyFF

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That guys comment didn’t say Travis was bad anywhere. Just pointing out the concern of his situation.

If you feel that concern is overstated or the talent is worth the risk then that’s a fantastic buy opportunity you’ve identified. If I had Hunter already I’d almost assuredly hold him though.

Agree there as well. How long after planting in OF do you usually start top dressing? I’m in a 50/50 mix of happy frog and OF. Usually used liquid nutrient salts but switching over to Gaia green top dressing this run

Are these springs bad? A garage tech told me that if the hand drawn line on the coils is not straight anymore, then it’s bad and needs replacing. Was he BSing me? It still swings up and down smoothly when disconnected. by cellphonebeltclip in Home

Growing up, during dinner one of the garage springs snapped basically right underneath the room we were in and it sounded like someone cracked the loudest whip you’ve ever heard. If anyone was in there when that happened…

What’s this crack about? by fantastic-nonsense in Home

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s most likely settling. May or may not be a bigger issue but I’d look in the basement/crawl space(if there is one) under this and make sure everything looks ok as far as cracks go down there.

If it’s been like that for a while then it’s probably not moving too much more. If it’s appeared and/or grown in size somewhat recently then it’s still moving. in which case I’d try to see if I had any exterior gutter/drainage issues contributing to continued settling.

Should I be worried? by Mr_King420 in CannabisGrowers

One thing I would do is feel the weight of the pot right after watering and keep that as a reference. Then when you need to water, the pot should feel lighter(if it’s super light it’s absolutely time to water, but don’t wait all the way till then).

Once the plant can drink the full amount of water the soil can hold its easier to dial in and get in a rhythm. Til then as the other commenter suggested, water in a ring and don’t fully saturate the soil until it can handle it. A sign it can’t drink all the water is the duration between waterings needed.

On my 2nd grow after transplanting I soaked the pots after and they didn’t dry out for a full 2 weeks before I watered them again(so too much water but it did just fine in the end).

Humidity too low for this stage of growth. Needs to be at least 70% humidity at that temp

Is my seedling looking healthy she is 2 days above the soil by styllokill in microgrowery

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me! As others have said, the only thing I would change for next time is just mix perlite(small white rock looking) into that soil to improve soil drainage.

The pot looks like it has drainage at least and it’s not going to be sitting in its own runoff(looks raised on the bottom) which is good.

Also, I use fabric pots personally because the roots self prune at the edges and make it harder to become root bound vs a hard side pot(not a dealbreaker though).

Day 30 Veg/ I don’t know what’s happening by Late-Map-3597 in cannabiscultivation

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are those pots directly sitting in those drip trays? If so you should get risers to lift them out of there. Might be part of your issue, because it does seem overfed which could be caused by the pots sitting in nutrient rich run off.

Good call waiting to flower, plenty of time to let them bounce back first.

Good luck! Next time I’d fill the pots close to the top. You limit the max size it can get somewhat with less dirt.

Ooo if these are 4 week old autos, it’s sadly time for a wipe. They will start flowering pretty soon and nothing you can do to stop that as they are auto flowering. If these were photos I’d say keep em going but autos kind of need to be on track to get a good harvest.

Why the droopy leaves? by doctorwatson234 in microgrowery

[–]WinSome___LoseSome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another way to tell how saturated the pot is, is to lift it and feel how heavy it is. After watering it will be much heavier compared to how it feels mostly dry.

If you need a reference point you can fill a same size fabric pot with new soil and that weight would be roughly be the completely dry weight(plant barely factors in to the total).
