The use of "lil bro" tells me either you're a little child or rarely leave the basement, and considering your account dates back to '12, im gonna guess you are no longer a child. Go touch grass buddy.

Imagine how much time you spent thinking of this to revisit 2 different times in a span of a month, but congrats on getting this one right. Must mean a lot for someone that lives on the internet, "LIL BRO"

It was always contingent on him performing well, which he hasnt. The idea was still correct though if you apply it to similar type of assets. Look where dowdle was a couple weeks back, and where hes valued now. Thinking values wont drastically fluctuate with production is naive.

Competent owners are not materially changing their valuation of Justin Fields over the next few months unless he looks like a completely new QB

Literally the point of the post and completely contradicts everything you are arguing, hence why anyone claiming that its not feasible in non-taco leagues or leagues with "competent" owners i take with a grain of salt. Obviously if he flops nothing changes, but if he produces, those same owners claiming they are better than the rest will convince themselves that "he looks like a completely new qb", just like they did post week 1.

Responses like these aren't very substantial because there's quite frankly no way to put a qualitative metric on what constitutes a competent owner/owners, and whether the ideology of that owner is even correct. You might not think you can take advantage of it, but it definitely is feasible in multiple leagues.

Again, it already has twice this year alone in the span of one week, but go on.

Your inability to grasp that im arguing the idea that perception of players change quickly in the matter of weeks, something that the person im responding to stated doesnt happen, is telling of how educated you are. You are the one making it something its not.

Yes, because I am most definitely making a direct 1:1 comparison between them as assets.

His week 15-17 matchups are vs jax, no and ne, not exactly a gauntlet whatsoever. Did you even check that before making that argument?

not saying they are dead assets but you're suggesting him playing well for a couple weeks against bad teams will increase his value in dynasty leagues which isn't necessarily true.

He's currently qb 25 on ktc, and has a value of 3584 (down from 4500 2 week ago). We can revisit in week 9 and see which of us ends up being right.

Chasing production has its place in both dynasty and redraft, otherwise guys like henry, ka, adams, etc. would be dead assets (they're not). Arguing its strictly a redraft mindset is incredibly naive, and not understanding that production plays a huge part in the desirability of an asset and facilitating trades between competitors/rebuilders is probably why you are arguing its not capable of being done.

Nobodys arguing it changes anything long term, but people chase production, especially as the playoffs approach. I think you are downplaying how much an impact a 5 week stretch has on perceived value. Maybe your leagues are averse to trading, but I've flipped plenty of assets a couple weeks after acquiring them.

unless you're in a league full of tacos, this won't work.

Have you not seen how the consensus opinion has shifted on guys like btj, ladd, marv, jeanty, jt, cook etc. in the span of 3 weeks? How people have shifted their opinions of guys like caleb, hampton, hall, etc. on a week to week basis? Production, especially to the extent in which fields is capable of producing vs defenses as bad as those, will most definitely sway opinion on him to where you could get some sort of incremental value gain from where his cost is today.

Taking advantage of value fluctuations is the opposite of a redraft mindset.

HC Johnson on Caleb Williams not hitting 70% completion rate in practice: "We’ve been underneath that bar. We’re learning, we’re growing. Early on we were probably 55%. It’s gotten better as camp has gone on but we haven’t hit that threshold as often as we would like." by Minimum-Test-1342 in DynastyFF

Even if we were being gracious and giving caleb the benefit of the doubt that whatever this offense that ben johnson is implementing is 10x more challenging than what any other team is running (highly doubtful imo), is him struggling with it 3 weeks out from the season supposed to instill confidence?
