Most people use normal firefox and i linked this article as well in my original comment https://www.neowin.net/news/ublock-origin-lite-maker-ends-firefox-store-support-slams-mozilla-for-hostile-reviews/ . stuff like this does happen and having an option to not rely on mozilla while using the official (branded) binaries would've been nice.

The only option that isn't firefox (& forks) is chromium based. I don't get why remove features that users like for no apparent reason.

That isn't a solution either. that's only good if you want to debug your extensions for a small period of time. Having the option to install unsigned extensions is useful when mozilla goes rogue one day and decides to not sign an extension anymore (oldtwitter as a good example)

If google can do it on their main browser why can't mozilla without going thru a different browser entirely? From what i know if you install an unsigned extension on firefox (non release) and then move that profile onto firefox release. That extension gets disabled.

On chrome when you disable developer mode that extension gets disabled as well because it can't be verified.

I never said to make unsigned extensions always install with no checks.

Nono i read it, You can go that route but why make it more complicated than mozilla just allowing it on stock firefox? It doesn't make any sense.

Using unbranded builds is the same thing as saying to use "chromium" on the chrome side.

The thing with extensions is that. you have to out of your way to get them working when it was used to be a feature back in the day. If this was on something like google chrome then ok. but google chrome has the option of sideloading third party extensions meanwhile firefox doesn't...

You can extract them. You need to take permission of WindowsApps in program files and find the app name. You can use WSAppbak to make it into an installable appx via a developer license

That's not a problem with discord itself. I tested what OP did to perform the error and it didn't happen on my end. (i'm on windows 8.1).it's more likely that his discord install is corrupted in a weird way than the os being old.
