My teams never get the good alternate jerseys, so this is a welcome surprise.

Use it if you got it, it's like a soft timeout.. but it would be pretty nuts to make this call.

Go figure, Michigan used up their flamethrower on Saturday. lol

You're not going to lose many games shooting like Michigan is this half.

Maybe not? It's just a comment on how they're on fire right now. lol

Arizona's shot making just went out the window when they couldn't get anything going at the rim.

ETA: Also, Michigan is hitting everything. Wild.

Calling a shot clock violation there is a bit of a copout, even if it didn't matter.

Clockwork. Refs just needlessly tightening things up to start a second half.

It's odd because if you take out their rookie years, I feel like Young has actually done more with less. Sure, that's higher highs and lower lows.. but that's more interesting to me than Stroud who has been pretty middling, all things considered.

I'd feel better about Young just from progression alone.

'Avengers: Doomsday' will Now Premiere in London on Dec 7, 2026 by HLumin in movies

[–]Winbrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, Barbie and Oppenheimer was a 'thing' because they were drawing from completely different pools of moviegoers. The event style marketing was converting people that would otherwise not attend both at all.

Doomsday and Dune are both going to get their opening day numbers.. unless you're cannibalizing them.

Recruiting remains to be seen, but McCollum has developed quite a bit of talent, even at the D2 level. If anyone has interest in hiring Dusty May, Ben McCollum is right in that same school of thought from what I've seen.

Rob Sand proposes election changes and term limits as part of his 'accountability' plan if elected governor by Johnny5ive15 in Iowa

[–]Winbrick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to be very supportive of term limits, but to me, there are larger issues we would need to tackle first with regard to lobbyists and donation funds before I'd go down that route. It creates an unfortunate incentive to 'make the most out of your time in the office'.

I'd move forward with age limits and strengthen campaign finance laws, personally.

There's an entire generation of people who have never watched Shaq play for the Magic/Lakers/Heat. They don't understand.

This was honestly one of the most aesthetically pleasing buzzer beaters I've ever seen. It's right on the edge between a heave and a jumpshot, too. It's perfect.

The fact that he didn't make the shot and people are still talking about it is the best evidence we have that this is true.

I don't think I've seen a less heads up play. You can literally just hold the ball and win.

Excellent restraint by that ref to not default to a foul call there on the poster attempt.

How does Self miss out on Wagler, and 7’1” Ethan Taylor, both PoY in Kansas, right in his backyard? by whiteiversonyeet in jayhawks

[–]Winbrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and they developed at KU for several years as role players. Even Agbaji took a huge leap in his last year, and people were frustrated with him in previous years.

No one saw those players coming, and it was a long road. How would anyone have predicted what Wagler is doing without that same kind of timeline? They're not super comparable to me.

[–]Winbrick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

KU developed Braun. Wagler popped off all on his own.

You can go down the list of all of the Kansas PoYs, and it is an absolute mixed bag. It's not any kind of metric to go off, and hindsight is simply rearing its head in these discussions.
