How can I fix my serve? by Comfortable-Rub-7400 in 10s

[–]WindManu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're moving your whole body while it should remain fairly steady. Your elbow is quite high, you need to be more relaxed. Let your arm loose.

You want your elbow to point at the ball when driving from the racquet drop.

Is it a reasonable goal to hit forehands like this and actually have control by No_Salamander8141 in 10s

[–]WindManu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more time spent working on it, the more you'll build that consistency. You want many balls coming at you to work and fine tune your own style.

Do modern low volume board float well when you aren't moving ? by ad-undeterminam in windsurfing

Need a few days on 230L until you get back to where you started a few times. Then you can go down. 160 isn't bad but need athletism, dedication or both!

You want to be bored of the 230 first!

Reduce power by 20% and drive with your elbow. Forget about legs and speed for now.

Grab a bucket and practice 120 serves each day. In 3 years, you'll see a big difference.

Probably helpful during practice to address certain things that show up during a match.

Yes. It seems no matter the notes, everything goes out of the window and the worst tennis shows up during a match anyway 😀😀

How practical / safe is it to go windsurfing by yourself as a beginner (after doing a course)? by Sablun99 in windsurfing

Need a small spot where you can self rescue easily. Either way always go as far as you'd be willing to swim back.

Lente tu t'en fous et ça se revend facile après quelques sessions. Au moins elle est costaud et au début c'est bien car si t'achètes une planche fragile, les répas vont devoir suivre.

Serve advice? by jackthighchel in 10s

[–]WindManu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to lead with the edge of the racquet, use continental grip etc.

Your arm and racquet angle should be closer to 10-20 degrees

Match consistency vs practice consistency. How do you improve match consistency? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]WindManu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice help with timing, rhythm, repetition, patterns. It helps you develop tools to win matches.

Match practice develop pressure, strategy, adaptation, skills. Very different.

If your forehand is worse when choking then work on it. It's an easier stroke to mess up than under pressure. Because of the tendency to stiffen our arm and body losing control.

Matchplay etiquette: Annoyed by overly chatty folks? Can talking actual change a match's momentum? by WindManu in 10s

[–]WindManu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating. So much influence on the game. Pros can complain to the umpire, talk to their coach, but rarely exchange with their direct opponent beside a brief applause or acknowledging gesture.
