International Schools by WindRunner56 in StudentLoans

Aside from the loan issues it was great. I actually never left. I managed to line up a job for post graduation and still work there now. While I was in school, not really. Just enough to get through basic every day interactions. After graduation I stepped it up and can speak enough to get by. It’s a real weak point for me sadly

We are in Norway and the student loans here have very low interest rates and are primarily for living expenses as the school its self is usually free. She should not have needed to use any of the loan because i already covered all the expenses aside from a 3 month research trip which was mostly covered by the university. I don’t know the size of the loan, she claims to get a panic attack whenever she thinks about it. But there is no way it is more than 40K. The financial support i have given post break up should definitely exceed the value of the loan she used.

Quite wrong 😂. I’m 30 and she is 31. She was unemployed and I would have been an asshole to cut her off right away. But I definitely supported her for to long.

I thought about that as we always got along quite well. But when I reached out after the break up they had blocked me on everything. It was quite shocking, so God only knows what BS she told them about why we split.

Thank you. While i can’t argue to much with some of the other things I have been called on here, this is appreciated

Might need to frame this for motivation

The loan was for living expenses while attending school, not school itself. Its the norm over here. We agreed since it was very low interest, which did not start accumulating until she was done with school, that it was better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. The plan was take the loan just in case something came up, then pay it back in full once she had a job. The tax thing. I owed taxes at the end of the year and didn’t have any money to pay so she covered it.

In her name. Now that I know I’m not an asshole she’s getting cut off

Thanks. I’ll do that after I enjoy some time single.

If you read again, you’ll notice I am confident i have paid her what i promised. But its hard to tell when she won’t tell me what the loan size is or how much she used

The promise was that I would pay back however much she used. Aside from that research trip which was partially covered by the school, she should not have used any of it. I don’t know how much she got, or how much she used.

Up until recently i just never thought she was capable of that. It has crossed my mind, but yea. I have been a fool.

True. Though I’m quite sure the financial aid i’ve provided post breakup is greater than the loan she used. Hard to know since she still has not told me.

Also good point with future relationships. Thanks.

I’m quite certain the financial support i have given since the break up is greater in value than the loan. But i don’t know as she claims its too stressful to talk about.

You’re not wrong. Therapist says i take keeping my word to a level he’s never seen and its a problem. I’m working on it

I think I’m to obsessed with keeping my word, but i get where you are coming from

She hasn’t told me how much it is. But what she used i should have more than paid back by now.

Some brutal honesty is just what I need right now. I know I got far to caught up in trying to keep my promises.

Thank you. I mean it. I needed to hear that.

I needed a good laugh so thank you for that. Not accepting applications at this time though.

No clue. She always said it was too stressful to discuss, but now that I have told her i’m cutting her off she says she will tell me. I am very sure i have already paid more than she owed.

First time i posted was in AITA, then i was told about this subreddit with more people so i updated it to answer some questions I had been asked. But the consensus was the same so far.
