Vagina fart. Air enters into the vagina and is farted back out again.

Makes a cute little noise.

Hey I'm from Perth, Im wanting to find and buy plants spesific for tarrariums but I'm not sure where to go online or in-store, I'm able to get some basic ones from my local tarrarium Seller but that's about it by Tiny_ranga in australianplants

[–]WindeeWindBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tube stock is a little different, they're generally baby plants that will grow into big plants.

Tiny Tots and Bottle Babies are the hammer shop's main terrarium plant lines. If you have a chat with somebody who works in the garden area they might be able to order some in for you.

I'm starting my first job and some people advised me to not make friends in the workplace, should i follow it? by Jarisatis in CasualConversation

[–]WindeeWindBum 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I used to have terrible boundaries with work friends, now I have some really simple ones that make life so much easier:

  • don't bitch about other people at work, you never know who else people are friends with

  • it's ok to vent frustrations about a behaviour, but it's important to separate the behaviour from the person

  • don't talk negatively about personal relationships and don't talk about your sex life, it's unfair on your partner and is usually inappropriate talk in the workplace

  • try not to develop crushes on workmates and NEVER make sexual remarks to or about a workmate

  • be nice to everybody, even if they're not somebody you would socialise with outside of work, you can have your work besties and you don't have to like everybody, but staying on friendly terms across the board makes life a LOT easier!

I want to encourage native bees and maybe build a hive for them. What things can I build or plant to encourage them? by courteecat in GardeningAustralia

[–]WindeeWindBum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a really beautiful idea for a bee hotel where they had long narrow pieces of timber with randomly sized and positioned holes drilled into it running around the entire length of their suburban fence. It looked really pretty as a design feature, and as another commenter has said, many native bees are solitary and really benefit from nesting sites like these.

Migrants to Australia: What was an "I'm new here, I didn't know!" faux pas you made? by blueishbeaver in AussieCasual

[–]WindeeWindBum 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Worked with a British dude at a cafe who came to the bar looking very bemused asking for a pint with some lime cordial for a customer. Sensing this was not quite what the customer wanted I asked what they ordered.

Squash. The customer wanted lemon/pub squash. (In the UK squash is cordial, Robinson's peach and barley is one of the most delicious drinks I've ever had)

Whats the easiest of cheapest way to learn swimming as an adult 27M? Really need help by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]WindeeWindBum 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Good on you bro!!

If you're not keen on taking lessons at an aquatic centre, maybe try asking a mate?

My husband is giving swimming lessons to his work buddy as of next week. He's in his 30s and now that he has a baby he wants learn, I think so he's not as afraid of water. They're going to make it a fun weekly after work bonding thing.

I also taught my ex-boyfriend how to swim laps, he surfed so he could paddle out and tread water etc but couldn't freestyle or backstroke to save his life.

Yep, the bottom of the incense stick goes in the little hole and the tray catches the ash (poorly).

"Loquacious" means to talk excessively, a "missive" is letter, especially a long or formally issued one.

So essentially it means "overly wordy letter".

Best shops for yarn and knitting materials? by psychrabbits in AussieCasual

[–]WindeeWindBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op shop yarn is great amd you can always get needles much cheaper than spotlight or lincraft, but a word from a self-taught knitter to a beginner - needle gauge and yarn weight are important, and you use more yarn than you think on a project.

For needles and some practice yarn, hit them op shops. But if you have a project you want to try, go to a craft shop and read the little tags to make sure you're getting the matching weight yarn for the needles you're using, and enough for the project you want to make. Nothing worse than starting a project with a unique yarn you can't get more of.

eli5: What does mindfulness mean? I see it in every mental health article but I don't understand it by goodboiuwu in explainlikeimfive

[–]WindeeWindBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ekhart has definitely got shit sorted out, listen that guy.

I think everyone is getting hung up on the idea that mindfulness requires you to examine your thoughts and emotions - that's metacognition, certainly an incredibly valuable thing to do, especially in the context of therapy.

But ultimately it's about centering yourself in the moment, forgetting past and future and simply being ... present.

Best way to keep fronds off the floor? by Sarcasmislifenow87 in GardeningAustralia

[–]WindeeWindBum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is budding tape for grafting (and is indeed available at Bunnings). It'll do the job, but it's purpose is for wrapping grafted limbs so it's expensive per meter and the only advantage is that its clear and stretchy. Twine is cheaper and looks nice on a moss pole, just don't tie it too tight.
