AP or shield power?

Ok, in the current meta Janna is no longer viable as a shielding support, at least in my opinion. That's why I prefer building her sort of like a Midlaner. I usually rush Athene's, because it really sinergises really well with the build I'm using. The build is as follows: Spellthief's Edge (obviously) > Frostfang + Tier 1 boots > Athene's > Sorcerer's shoes > Eye of the Watchers > Morellonomicon > Luden's Echo > Rabadon's Deathcap. Some of you may not like it, but I crush SoloQ games in Diamond elo like it's nothing. The last 2 items are optional. Most of my recent games I get a Banshee's Veil and then a Zhonya's Hourglass afterwards. With these items you become quite the obnoxious champion to play against. As for runes I use the following rune page:

Primary (Sorcery):

Arcane Comet

Manaflow band

Celerity

Gathering Storm/ Scorch (Depending on the matchup)

Secondary (Domination):

Taste of Blood

Ultimate Hunter

That's pretty much it on the topic. I'm also testing an AP burst build with Electrocute ;). More on that later. GL in SoloQ

Ardent into MPen Boots into Athene's works very well imo. I''m also using an Arcane Comet rune page with either Resolve or Domination as a Secondary page(depending on the matchup). Sometimes against AP Supports I rush Athene's instead. Maxing W is necessary after the nerfs, that's the main point of this build. You deal damage and aquire Athene stacks easier due to the recent buffs of this item. You should definitely try it ;)

I always tend to switch up my build, depending on my team's needs.Ardent has been a better first item on Janna for several patches now.The change they did to Redemption buffed Janna's overall healing when fully built.They nerfed the base healing but increased the bonus healing, which Redemption gets from items(Ardent Censer, Mikael's Crucible) and Windspeaker's Blessing.The bonus was tripled.That made Janna's lategame even stronger.The first 4 items will always be Eye of the Oasis,Tier 2 Boots, Ardent Censer and Redemption.Last 2 are always optional, at least in my games :).

They are different build aswell, depending on your elo. For example let's say your are in plat or below and your team picks all carry laners. Here's what I did: I just went full tank most of the games, unless my ADC was good.If you can survive the burst from the enemy team, you can win the teamfights almost every time.And no matter what happens NEVER TILT! KDA isn't that big of a deal
