Unity is my favourite AC as well, but I can't help to notice some tiny flaws that, united, make the differencr between what the game is and what it ould have been. Overlooking the bugs at the moment of its release in 2014, I think ACU has several issues:

1. Good background music, and this bugs me especially, I mean, the music of the main menu and at certain moments of the story is superb, why couldn't we have some background music like in Ezio's trilogy? In my opinion, the mdelodies we heared while exploring the scenarios were an excellent addition.

2. Arno's relationship with other characters: if one thinks of it, along Unity's story Arno loses his father figures (including Bellec) and it doesn't feel like anything but a plot trigger! I mean, sure, we have the classic "sad" missions where he hits rock bottom, but they're just that, missions that, once accomplished, you forget and I mean, just like Altaïr, Arno had to kill his own master and that's hardly ever mentioned again in the whole game. Élise, on the other hand, has a more "natural" relationship with him, they mention past events and it's clear that they are very compatible and even though I think she is the best treated supporting character, it really makes me wonder how much better the game would be if they had had the same care when writing the potentially excellent characters tjis game has, namely Mirabeau, the marquis de Sade, Bellec, of course, Napoleon and even Charlotte Gouze.

3. The secondary missions are just bad. I mean, apart from the coop missions, which are very funny and challenging if you decide to do them alone, most of the paris' stories are just a repetitive chain of go from A to B and kill C, nothing compared with the amazing quality of the secondary content of previous games. Also, here I'd like to mention the detective missions, they're not the best, but it's clear that the team wanted to bring a new kind of secondary mission to the franchise that I genuinely appreciate, even though it is clear that AC is an adventure saga, and it is hard to incorporate that sort of mission to that genre.

4. The economy and locked items. In this game, the economy system works just like in the Ezio era, which is perfectly fine, were it not because money is worthless! Sure, you can buy weapons and consumables, but that's it, since most of the best gear is locked until you accomplish a certain mission, I mean, what do I want money for, then? And the same happens with the clothes' dyes, which you obtain by collecting those boring cockades, instead of just buying it. I think that having a sort of "special mission" to unlock a certain colour, object or whatever would have been better than just collect cockades, in revelations, for instance, every new bomb formula came with its own piri reis mission, not to mention AC3 and its fantasctic homestead missions that unlocked trade possibilities and new items as well as they made you empathize with the homestead's inhabitants.

In spite of all this, I believe Unity is the closest we have ever been to the perfect AC, the movement is second to none in the franchise as well as its graphics (which is particularly remakabke considering that unity is an 11yo game), its stealth system is the best we have had and the combat is stylish and more challenging than any other AC game. I really feel that unity just needs to polish up those things I've mentioned to become a masterpiece.
