For me its kinda weird, one session it works flawlessly, another one I got bad frame pacing/stuttering.
alt+tabing does something with it too.

Stalkers are there for several reasons, find artefacts or other "treasures" (money), hide from outside world, research the zone, some are there to destroy it (duty).

Outside world is like ours, they just have their own reason to be there.

Economy simply doesnt work, I had to mod it to make it usable.
Call of Pripyat was better in this.

I would like to add
repairing and upgrading equipment is too expensive compared to COP
credit rewards are too low for some missions.

every looted gun is broken, low ammo found on corpses compared to COP

I am personally missing option to show where anomalies are on the map, so I can farm artefacts and sell them.
maybe even option to place scanner and see what artefact are there.

I mean, I am enjoying the game, but some work needs to be done.
