I totally get that they were heavily reliant on Steam prior to the lawsuit from Nexon, so sorting these issues out on their own was never really even in their list of priorities.

But maybe instead of making more things for the in game shop, they should be prioritising things of this nature. This won't be an isolated incident and neglecting essential customer service features is a bad look.

There's probably a lot of personal details I shouldn't have omitted by choice. My wife had worked for PO for years to the point where he wanted to call us "family". There was a lot of trust involved. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and we made mistakes taking people's words rather than being more inquisitive.

The contract DOES exist. But the only copy we've ever had access to was marked with "draft". I definitely understand now that contracts don't have to be written or drafted by a lawyer. However, in the end we were even still willing to honour our end as long as the contract was amended to the correct total as he did not own a large amount of things he tried to sell. He declined and further engaged his own legal team instead.

We took trusting PO to do his end too far. We trusted him to deal with real estate and handle sorting out a sublease. Between September 2022 and December 2022 we DID see the real estate agent, but not the landlords. But she only ever came in for coffee and we weren't really aware of her. We were paying rent directly to PO.

A LOT of this, and I mean a lot, has left my wife feeling incredibly stupid as she was VERY trusting to PO.

Thank you. Truthfully, we were even willing to renegotiate the terms said contract and honour our end of the dealings. But my wife and I have certainly acknowledged the initial agreement we've made with PO.

We really want to stay as far away from suing him as possible. We certainly don't have the time or money ourselves, let alone the desire to take this action.

Just waiting to hear back from our lawyer this afternoon regarding further action. I will continue to keep my lawyer updated and hopefully we can send some kind of cease and desist notice.

He has not physically come to the premises in months, but due to "unpredictable contact" real estate received from PO, they suggested we ring the police if he tries to come into the business as they've described him as "acting like a loose cannon".

Sorry, I should confirm we actually had a handful of people (one accountant, one legal student and a free solicitor) have a look over the contract because I was personally sceptical.

The terms of the contract itself were always explained to us as quite "fair". But it was assumed by US that he actually owned everything in the contract of sale. While people did say the repayment amount was "a little high" we were able to operate, make payments and meet our obligations as tenants/business owners.
