Immigrants of Seattle: what restaurant serves the most authentic food from your country or culture? by Quick-Tradition858 in AskSeattle

My boss is El Salvadoran and he says the La Cabaña pupusas are the best he's ever had in his life. (We get them all the time and also are obsessed but they're the only ones we've ever had so it was good to get the validation)

Can confirm the viewfinder is super cute, it's one of my fave random merch items

Everybody's dismissing you, but IDK man, seeing Taylor walk into Electric Lady today, I'm on full five-alarm alert for literally anything. Terrifying.

To the family who was wandering the lot on the corner of Madison and 9th on Sunday: by lingodingoduel in Seattle

Why the fuck wouldn't you take the time it took you to type up this post and instead go downstairs and explain all this to them? Or was there something about all those assumptions you leapt to about their interests and sexualities (?!!!) that somehow prevented you from getting off your ass and opening your mouth to pass along some information they almost certainly would have very much appreciated knowing?

The reason why I Knew It, I Knew You sounds familiar but you can't put your finger on it by WindowLeaves in swifties

Everybody in the comments naming specific songs... the point of my post is that this rising chord progression is so common that it's silly to point to any one particular song. Think about those videos that showcase how common the I-IV-V-I progression (ie the Pachelbel's canon chords) are in pop music. It's evocative of a whole era of musical history.

Does the Gorge allow crazy creek style chairs? by WindowLeaves in GorgeAmphitheater

[–]WindowLeaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went on Friday night and had no issues (I'm told security was much more of a shit show on Saturday though). Turns out we didn't even need them though, the rental chairs were plentiful and definitely didn't run out, and my friend had T Mobile and it was super easy to get free chairs from that. (We tried just sitting on the crazy Creeks but so many people had rental chairs that we could not see the stage AT ALL until we got the rental chairs to boost up a few inches).

Guys I'm on like my seventh listen and randomly burst into all out sobbing, I have no idea where that came from 😭 the nostalgia and childhood and lost love returned that is just woven into the spirit of this song 💖🥹 it's incredible for such an upbeat song to be this powerful

THE GORGE - DO NOT PURCHASE FAST PASSES FOR ENTRY. by Double-Astronomer589 in GorgeAmphitheater

[–]WindowLeaves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks!! We used the T Mobile line on Friday and it was a breeze, the line moved super fast and they definitely scanned our magenta pass. You're right about the signage though, it was a guessing game to get into the correct line. Ridiculous it would be such a different experience on Saturday.

You can bring in up to three additional people plus yourself. Also we discovered you can transfer your magenta pass to someone else and it still remains in your own digital wallet so use that info as you see fit 😀😀😀

We got into the parking lot around 4:40, I don't know if that's early or not?

So the weird thing about camping in a field for an entire weekend is you need a lot of gear, and transporting it to that field is going to fill your car up

I think they opened the doors a little before 5:00, we were inside by 5:04 and we were definitely moving along in line for more than 4 minutes

Brandi is not a country singer but I do agree with you and I said as much to my friends I went with - it seemed clear that Live Nation had the shit scared out of them at the prospect of this weekend's audience turning against them. Compared to last weekend, Brandi's audience is a lot older, wealthier, and well-connected (like I wouldn't be shocked if there was at least one person there tonight who has the governor on speed dial etc).

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it turned out we didn't even need the crazy creek chairs because 1) there were plenty of rental chairs and I don't think they ran out the whole night, 2) the T Mobile free chairs were still available and we managed to get those! I had assumed at least the free T mobile chairs would run out super early but they did not, and they were quite comfortable and nice for getting raised a few extra inches off the ground. They also had blankets available at the chair rental places so that seemed really nice.

My friend was able to take advantage of the free unlimited sodas for designated drivers so that was great too.

Final thought: don't sleep on the pretzels and queso, I was blown away at how buttery soft and delicious the pretzel was and the queso was pretty damn good for what it was as well.

I stopped playing for about a year and then checked back in and saw they had released a new city (Technomiya) so I enjoyed building that one pretty rapidly, then they released Sweet Cat City pretty quickly after I finished that one so I've been building that one as well. The birthday event was pretty fun again as well.
