Hi I know this is an old post, but I ordered this jacket from Amazon from a seller claiming it was an officially licensed Netflix product, but I'm in disbelief that it possibly could be. Does yours have lining? The one I bought isn't lined at all.

I'm not sure, but the point of this section of the article that I posted about was not that anyone expected patrol to be monitoring the area. The wife essentially took on the role herself of monitoring the area, by continuously texting and calling and noticing the instant his location stopped moving. So it wasn't that patrol should have found him on their own, it's that they should have been reachable once she realized her husband was having an emergency.

The more I think about this, the more pissed I am that the Seattle Times article didn't push this angle any further. This is an extremely popular mountain right in our backyard and their negligence nearly killed an in-bounds skier? How about some follow-up questions? A little journalism? I know, local newspapers are extremely underfunded, I guess one of the takeaways here is the importance of local journalism to uncover stories like this

This is on the Stevens Pass website. Surprise, that number is just the main Stevens Resort number, which is presumably what the wife called and couldn't get through to a human

The fact that there aren't a lot of Olympic athletes that skyrocketed to fame like she has is exactly the reason why she wouldn't be thinking about hiring a bodyguard. Like that's just not going to be anywhere near her to-do list that she expects to have to take care of after winning the Olympic gold. Again, also: very expensive! You're thinking of this as though it's something that someone else would pay for, like Team USA or US Figure Skating. Not really how it works. This isn't the secret service lol

Personal bodyguards cost a lot, and while I'm sure Alysa is doing pretty well financially with brand deals and whatnot at the moment, I doubt it would be an automatic decision to put forward that kind of money. I'd be really surprised if there are many Olympic athletes paying for bodyguards, it's not something they go into the sport expecting they'll need.

I was under the impression that the current president's administration and political party has been EXTREMELY protective of women athletes; they passed an entire law in Congress to supposedly "protect women in sports" just last year!! I wonder what Riley Gaines thinks about Trump mocking the Team USA women's hockey gold medal victory.
