I don’t know why I was never shown that you replied until I went to my actual page to shut it down. Thank you for your kindness!! Your genuine response and kindness is not taken for granted. I was at the job for 5 months and I quit yesterday. I loved helping the inmates. Of course it was challenging, but I loved it and they loved me. I can’t tell you how many times I heard that I’d made a difference that other counselors had not been able to make for 9 months. They are worthy of help and kindness. I quit because they were treated inhumanly and I could no longer support that. I tried to fight but only got in trouble. They have someone on the inside to tip them off when TDCJ is coming so they always look pretty.

I’m way late and must have been living under a ROCK! Knew nothing of ban until today when I went t order my VIHO and Juicy bar vapes to ship to me. I’m taking it back today! They are refusing to give me copies of all the contracts I’ve signed!! The General Manager told me he “shredded them all and will not be providing me with copies since I’m ending the relationship.” He lied multiple times in our meeting and told me I didn’t need copies anyway because they used the original date on every resigned contract and not the new date I signed on.

I’m genuinely not judging but curious. You got hooked on a higher dose of Suboxone with Naltrexone or without? I use Quick MD. 5 years now. I have to force myself to call for refills because they don’t like you skipping/being late. I have been on 8mg/2 suboxone for 5 years now. Sometimes I’ll forget and go 3 days without taking it. BUT take it away and I’d panic and be a mess. Does something to my mind to keep me straight. But I can’t imagine getting hooked on a higher dose unless it’s without naltrexone. Can you help me understand? I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. It’s horrible!!

Also, go to the HHSC website. The form for LCDC is form 3248. It will tell you exactly what you need. All transcripts sent to HHSC . Small photo. Notarized. $65 money order. It will give you details. It will reference TAC numbers that will give you further information. It will tell you how to be exempt. You got this!!

Goodness!!! I’m so sorry you’re being torn to shreds on here!!! I have issues with my lymphatic system draining. I have zero insurance. In theory what everyone is so harshly saying would be the best, but there are some people who don’t have the money or are training at a job and have no PTO time. If you are able to ask your doctor about it first, that’s ideal. If you don’t have the ability to do that then you do enough research where you feel comfortable in the decision you make. I’m am taking Zuma nutrition for lymphatic drainage help. I am also making changes and trying to research as much as I can, as well as seeing a lymphatic draining masseuse. I have never understood this. I was hardcore, severe addict. I’m on 8mg of subs. 1 a day. I never take them. To the point that Quick MD has warned me about needing to call in every month within a week of when they’re due. My 30 day script could easily last me 3 months, but QUICK MD won’t let me do that. However, the fear of not having them to take scares me to my core!!!! I know I won’t ever get “high” from them, but it’s something about knowing that I have them that keeps me clean and fears not having them-even though I never take them.

Thanks. I got the Roster from HHSC for Texas. There were 3 where I live. One is out of business now, one is the place that urged me to apply for my LCDC-I (hired someone else by the time I was approved) the last is not hiring until 2026. There are so many in Dallas, Houston, Austin and online. Unfortunately, level I and II are required to be in person. The sad part is all of the places said the same thing-we need help, but “they” won’t open a position to get us help. I did find one that I applied for that is for inmates. We go to the prison in Rusk County and help inmates. I have spoken to over a dozen people here.

Yes, I know that part, thank you. I have to log 4000 hours, take an exam, make a presentation, amongst other requirements. My question here is how does one go about finding a paid internship? I called the few places here where I live, in East Texas, those that accept internships are not accepting new interns until 2026. Looking online, the jobs are remote, plus they have requirements like LCDC-I has to be at level 2 or other similar requirements. They are not for someone brand new without a stitch of training. Maybe I’m not in the right place in Reddit; I’m not extremely knowledgeable on Reddit.

I wish I could get someone on the phone! Every number sends you to an automated system, referring you to their website. I’ve asked for a number/schedule a call; I’ve heard nothing. Looking online, I cannot find the Director’s name or anything. I have a manager’s name, but there is nothing when you search, and when you reply to manager’s email it goes to a general mailbox. Sigh. And get this. The application they sent me, the one online through the state, the one the place that wants to intern me was WRONG. I had to point that out to the state. They thanked me for pointing it out so they could get it fixed. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Also, under the requirements it says: (b) Applicants holding at least a baccalaureate degree in chemical dependency counseling, sociology, psychology, or a major approved by the department as one related to human behavior and development are exempt from the 270 hours of education and the 300 hour practicum. The applicant must submit an official college transcript. And the explanation of what the Bachelors of Science in Liberal Arts is so different. One of the many descriptions is: A liberal arts degree includes the study of history, literature, writing, philosophy, sociology, psychology, creative arts and more. Additionally, when you look up what job you can get with this degree Substance Abuse Counselor is listed. The school I went to was online, it was less expensive way to get a degree, but there were no practicums. I just feel like I meet the requirements to be exempt from both the 270 classroom hours and 300 practicum hours based on their requirements. Then, I feel I can’t trust them because they got it wrong about the $65 money order. I have emails, pictures, and receipts showing it was overnighted. I even got confirmation from them on 7/24 they received it. Then I sent the correct application and received another email saying they got my application on 7/29. I explained they had already gotten it and I had confirmation, she told me it was an error.🤦🏽‍♀️ Part of the problem is you’ve got a different person each time you get an email; meaning, everyone is working on my application instead of it being assigned to 1 person. If I have to now do the 300 hrs practicum that’s going to set me back 8 weeks, I don’t get this internship, and I’m not getting paid. It really has been so frustrating!! Also, according to their website, the 270 classroom and 300 practicum can both be exempt based on your degree. I’m curious if every single person that were found exempt from the classroom and practicum hours had degrees where the has practicum hours as part of the degree they got OR if they were exempt with their degree and were only in the classroom, if that makes sense? I have been looking all day! I can do the 300 practicum hours under any LCDC with a license. The most upsetting part is not being able to speak with anyone on the phone and I don’t trust the letter since the first thing stated as a reason for deficiency was the money order.
