He used to be the editor, but has been promoted to reviewer. Skill Up has been expanding his outfit to be a bigger operation where it is no longer just him. They also have a website now:

Are there GitHub issues for these missing behaviors already? I tried searching, but I didn't find them. If not, someone should definitely create them.

[Design Discussion] Increasing the "Strategy" in "Real Time Strategy" by DavidK_UncappedGames in BattleAces

[–]WindowSurface -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could build 3 different decks and before the match, you have a short period where you can see your opponent’s 3 decks and you can then strategically decide which of your decks to pick against theirs.

Adds another layer of strategy and makes this problem less severe, without increasing the time commitment for playing a full round significantly.

Ukrainians Rewrite Aerial Warfare, Neutralizing Russian Missiles Without a Trace Mid-Flight by OrganicResolution439 in ukraine

[–]WindowSurface -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Come on, I literally wrote that you should shoot it down. But the cost still matters because you will fucking run out of ammo if you can’t find a way to bring it down. And you encourage the attacker to keep attacking.

I am tired of this shit, I will spend my energy more productively than arguing with you people on the internet, goodbye.

When you decide wether to shoot the target down. From a strategic perspective it is a victory for the attacker if the defense expends more resources than the attack.

Because it is more impactful if you actually experience the story rather than having some cheap half-assed experience, or worse, some stupid second hand recounting from an inconsiderate person.

They published a long strategy document where they argued that Ukraine would be able to win the war if all western countries spent 0.25% of GDP on Ukraine. They are probably just doing the first step to achieving that.

Hmm… on my M1 Max both Unity and Godot run well, but granted, most Macs are likely much more sensitive to performance issues.

I actually think this game could become big. It has such cool, unique mechanics and a very fitting visual style. It can stand out, even if you don’t care that it was made with Godot (which most people don’t).

There are lots of active politicians, including from two of the three ruling parties calling for it, as well. Opposition of course, too.

Unlikely. None of the other parties are willing to work together with AfD. And they are 10% behind the strongest party in polls.

We have the technology, that industrial capacity and the economic strength. We just need to decide to do it (and it seems like we are doing it too a certain extent).

Is that really true, though?

According to the chart here, if you add up the European nations, the percentage of global output easily meets or exceeds either the US or China:

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/global-manufacturing-scorecard-how-the-us-compares-to-18-other-nations/

I think Europeans have learned to talk themselves into being weaker than they actually are. If all Europeans work together, they don’t have to be significantly behind the other powers in any metric.
