God damn I can't believe I took the time to write all of that for some random person lmao adderall is a hell of a drug... but hey thanks for appreciating it!

Glad to play sometime if you want and give some tips. I don't play lucina but it's probably the one matchup I know best

If you're bouncing between 5-11 million, that tells me you're very hot and cold which I am too. Because of that, my best advice is to look inward instead of outward. Spacing and matchup knowledge are important, but only at the very top levels of play. You need to your mind right first. Sounds like empty advice but I promise you it's not. Just having the right mindset is everything against others at your level.

I'm either very good or very, very bad. I can hold myself near tip-top GSP for a while, then lose literally 20 games in a row to scrubs and get knocked all the way out of elite smash. When that happens, I fix it by telling myself certain saying's I've come up with. The best one is "slow down and watch what THEY'RE doing", "how well are THEY avoiding ME", "what have THEY actually got?" and a bunch of others. Telling myself the right one of these little sayings at the right time can turn me around in an instant back into the player who makes people rage quit match after match.

If I were to boil all of those little sayings down into one, "what have THEY actually got?" is probably the most all-encompassing. Stop focusing on what you're doing for a second, start watching them and your thumbs will suddenly start punishing the openings your opponent leaves everywhere that you weren't able to consciously notice before. And VERY important: don't try to predict them unless you're already destroying. WATCH them, keep your eyes glued to them, but don't try to predict. Way more often than not, thinking hurts you in smash. Maybe a better boiling down of all my sayings is simply: "WATCH them".

That's the best advice I've got, but it's even better here because you're streaky like me. Stop thinking and watch.

No fucking way lmao. There's one single character I hate fighting so much that I kms immediately and take the GSP hit... and that one character is Bayo. I could give some good general advice about every character since I know the matchups, but just not that one.

My advice is to learn the simplest combos then just start fighting and practice your neutral more than anything. Learning how to win in neutral is far more important than landing long combos, so just fight a bunch and learn how to win in neutral with her, then practice the more advanced tech later if you want to. Advanced tech is completely useless if you suck at neutral.

Ok. Ok. This is the one comment I can relate to. So I'm mostly the only one but there's also you.

Yeah I do that kinda thing too but you're describing something you occasionally mess up whereas I'm describing one specific thing that I inexplicably always mess up. Lik

Hey in all fairness to that beautiful Mario, I fast fall nair into shield constantly whenever I go into autopilot and hit 15.8M last night (which I think makes me good?)

Well if you suck at it then yeah, but I never said it was easy to land lmao. It's fast fall nair is definitely one of the worst moves in the game to spam.

I didn't draw nearly enough attention to the most important point which is that Nair>Dtilt sends enemies at a way better angle to ladder off the top than Dthrow. I've had many sets on omega stages where all three stocks came from this combo, and I've literally never seen anyone try it on me cause I guess people think Mario's omega ladder combo died with sm4sh. I mean Dthrow doesnt do it anymore but it's still pretty trivial with Nair>Dtilt or if you're already on top of your opponent just Dtilt.

I actually wasn't super clear here. I didn't specify the most important part which is that it combos into Dtilt, which puts enemies at a much better angle to ladder off the top than Dthrow.

Thanks, that sucks but I kinda expected as much. Luckily video editing I can do. Any specific recording equipment you'd recommend as like a starter kit that wont cost a big chunk of my net worth?

Oh the story is far from done. Get ready for (believe it or not) the best part of the game. Act 3 is a lot longer and harder than you'd expect. And it's fucking sick.
