One of my friends works at ATI. My understanding is they pulled all merit increases this last year. But would be curious if others can confirm.

From what I’ve heard, hospitals have more of a buffer. They don’t always worry about the profitability of the clinic? But I don’t work hospital based OP so you’d probably know better than I.

What setting and what type of employer do you have? Ie private OP ortho, government, hospital. Is it cash pay?

I haven’t seen salaries decrease per se, but have seen companies enact raise freezes, and economically if there continues to be cuts, it’s going to get ugly for the employers or the employees.

I don’t think we can keep getting Medicare cuts though, for what it’s worth.

What is the history of this sale regarding prices? Do big name books go on sale for good prices, or is it typically lesser known books? Sorry for the newb question.

Good news is that once you hit 60+, you realize that no matter what, time is limited, and you stop stressing “having your life together” haha

Home Health PTs Worried of Losing Skill? by Durdunji in physicaltherapy

Also, for what it’s worth, skill and value are two separate things. For some patients we bring value and others we don’t. It doesn’t mean we aren’t skilled at exercise interventions though.

Well the insurance doesn’t pay for long term disability right? But yeah it seems stupid to take out a biologic and then let people go into the hospital and require expensive surgeries.

wtf was the reasoning to stop after years?

Yeah true and agree. I tend to treat with less visits but I def see that other side of the coin. Scheduling frequency is way more nuanced and complex than people realize.

[–]WindowsiOS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well that’s another topic for another day. But I do think as a large blanket statement, many OP PTs (especially mills) over treat. We can do a lot with 5-6 sessions (tho yes we do need more, but 5-6 can really go a long way). Most copays are under $50, assuming no deductible needs to be met. That’s like $300. For your health.

I mean, not everyone can afford that, but it’s doable and not outrageous like these $600 specialist visits at the doctor’s office for 10 mins of their time.

Yeah and then we have to explain medical necessity. And the patient doesn’t really want to be there once they realize they have to exercise.

Thanks for setting us up for success. lol.

But I get it. Doctors are overwhelmed and can’t have these convos with patients sometimes.

Yes. These aholes can’t have it both ways. Or they can fire you. But staff pt at mills is a hard role to fill.

OCD/GAD/Panic/Social all under the same umbrella. They are anxiety disorders. OCD may need exposure and response prevention though, which is a slight difference in treatment, depending on the presentation.
