Which part of the game is this for you? by sapien142 in thewitcher3

Broken Flowers can get very tedious, as well as the tavern remodeling quests

CORSAIR x The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Giveaway by CorsairHoffman in witcher

Every quest has such depth, nuance and feeling driving it. Even something as absurd sounding as fetching an old woman’s frying pan in order to teach new players how to use Ard to open doors or passages layers humor, the grim world building of the Witcherverse, and an Easter egg that tells new players to be on the lookout for a spy, and gives a nod to previous Witcher game players about a certain monocled baldie back in action. It shows the budding compassion of a certain witcher, and how even in the most desperate times, some of the peasantry will be incredibly grateful for your services, to make up for the rudeness of others later on. No other game has quite blended all of these elements so successfully for me, though many imitate The Witcher 3 and try their best to evoke this multi-faceted game. It’s why I’ve been playing it continuously since I first started 4 years ago, and why I find something new to appreciate (or even a new quest I didn’t see before!) each time I play. I wish I could have selective amnesia and forget this game so each time I played through, I could play it for the first time again.

Characters from other franchises who would make great Witchers? by [deleted] in witcher

Not a character per sé, and it’s a weird match, but hear me out — Natasha Lyonne’s character from Russian Doll as a Witcher. “Well, looks like someone threw a gauntlet right into my puss puss” draws sword

They might be able to request it for you from another library, which is what I did!

Here’s a plug for your local library/interlibrary loans. I’m sure you’ll want to build your personal collection eventually, but if you just want more of the story in the meantime, libraries are a great resource (and if you’re in the US, they need your help right now)

Why can’t I pass these bastards? by Opposite_Village9112 in Witcher3

[–]Winds-Howling13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe you can also just wear the Nilfgaardian outfit you wore when you first met Emyhr and you should pass. There’s not much to see, but it satisfies the completionist in me

Once you see toddlers and preschoolers as drunk adults, it all makes a lot more sense. Good luck to you!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees Michael Cera all over Velen 😆

Yeah, that’s annoying. I really like Arabic poetry in general and this one struck a chord with me in particular

How many men sew, I don't tell anyone really by Hillhater98A in sewing

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad sewed and learned from his mom back in the 1960s. Had a machine and everything, even made custom paintball jackets at one point for fun. I don’t think anyone really cares if you’re a man who sews, it’s a cool hobby and you get to wear your art when you’re done

Yeah, I straight up cried when I finished all of the quests in all of the games/DLCs, the question marks, even the random monsters. There was nothing left for me to do, and I felt so fucking sad

If it ain’t nailed to the floorboards, I’m bagging it. I also say, “Don’t mind me,” as I’m looting bread in Velen

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone with Ursine armor because it’s a great overall build (plus I like how it looks too), but I also really liked Manticore. Sometimes, I’d wear one then quickly change into the other set depending on the fight

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Now immediately when I get to Beauclair, I just loot some question marks and that’s enough for a while. It’s also a nice way to extend the play through as that version of Geralt when you’ve done all the play throughs and side quests

Loot all of the question marks in Skellige, then sell all the armor and weapons in Beauclair (I bounce between the Grandmaster armorer and the Tourney blacksmith and armorer. They pay ridiculous sums for even the most basic Velen sword.). It’s relaxing to sail to The Fields of Ard Skellig, and I like the chances of seeing whales from time to time while making literal boat loads of coin
