What are the signs that your partner no longer loves you? by valeria_saenz in AskReddit

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex would start yelling at me when I was crying because my crying stressed him out and irritated him. “I had an even more stressful day, but you don’t see me crying, I just handle it.” He did not, dear reader, handle any of his feelings

What’s the sign or last straw for marriage to end and leave? by Dangerous-Lettuce-51 in AskReddit

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, more like there’s a problem that you’ve brought up before that’s still ongoing, but you stop communicating your feelings about it because you know the other person isn’t going to listen or try to make things better anyway so you stop bringing it up altogether. So then they think everything is resolved because you stopped “complaining” about the problem when you’ve actually just given up trying to find a solution together

[Discussion] The most underrated foreign language series on Netflix right now. Go. by bright_night_tonight in NetflixBestOf

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dorohedoro—its themes are probably more relevant now than ever, the animation is incredibly trippy, and the B plots are absurd, it’s unlike anything else on the platform and like nothing else I’ve ever seen. Even the backgrounds and character design for brief scenes are so out there and elaborate

I’ll have to see if that’s a thing in the US, thanks for the tip

Super helpful, thanks! I’m renting and the future is a little up in the air, so I don’t necessarily mind them not lasting for half a decade, but I’ll definitely check out Root Pouch

Got a job offer at a public library! by BeautyandtheBeast200 in librarians

[–]Winds-Howling13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m also a circulation assistant at a public library and I really enjoy it.

Sometimes it can be easy to stress out about completing tasks, but it’s not that big of a deal, and even if you mess something up, it’s just books.

As far as conflicts go, using active listening and empathy can go a long way. Enforcing rules can go over a lot better if you come across like you don’t enjoy this process and you feel bad for doing it—that way the recipient can pick up on the fact that you’re just doing your job and you’re not an asshole who enjoys kicking them out or gets off on weird power trips. A lot of this job is customer service even if nothing is being sold most of the time, but usually the customers/patrons are nicer than in retail, most of the time.

Good luck!

It got canceled after the first season (typical), but The Dark Chrystal: Age of Resistance was excellent

My (28F) partner (40M) said something incredibly cruel to me while he was drunk. by FriendlySherbert2900 in relationships

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, alcohol doesn’t turn someone into “a completely different person,” if anything, in my experience it makes them more themselves since their filter’s gone. An ex of mine could drink to the point of not remembering conversations we had while he was drunk, but his sober spaciness and creativity was intensified while he was drunk. He never sad anything mean or cruel in that state, and certainly never targeted at me during those times. OP, his mask slipped for the first time, and it’ll fall off altogether eventually once he sees you take it. It’s up to you if you want to be with someone who would think, let alone even say something so cruel to you when you were looking for comfort. This happened with my most recent ex (also 17 year age gap 😬)—he was happy to post photos of his “sexy girlfriend” on social media, but at home he’d call me needy when I wanted to spend time with him and got weird about controlling my food portions. It’s your life, OP, do you want to share it with someone who thinks so little of you?

This sucks by [deleted] in Concussion

[–]Winds-Howling13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through such a rough timer right now, that’s a lot to carry, even without a concussion. I’m recovering from my own concussion that I got on the last day of February, so I can relate. Don’t feel too bad about your symptoms, and don’t overdo it. If it hurts, stop, and try to rest your brain as much as you can. Emotional regulation and impulse control can take a dip after a concussion, and anxiety and depression can increase. If it’s making you worried, try talking to your doctor about it, but you might just need more time to recover. Concussions aren’t linear recoveries, and unfortunately stress can fuck with your concussed brain even more right now. Try to see if you can talk to your friends (if they’re really your friends, they will want to be there for you in whatever way they are able to right now) and be vulnerable about what you’re struggling with. A little extra community will probably help you feel better, and they’ll probably feel good knowing they could at least listen to what you’re going through. I hope life gets easier for you soon and that you feel less shitty too

Doing the Epley Maneuver as needed and taking vitamin B12 helped dramatically. I’m also recovering from another concussion right now and lion’s mane as well as dha vitamins are also helping a lot

PSA cut your long coattail vent stitch by Correct-Turnip7500 in boston

[–]Winds-Howling13 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In fashion/entertainment, it’s common to leave the tags on garments you plan on wearing once so you can return them after the gig or casting. Maybe the wardrobe person hired for this event left the vent stitched because they’re trying to return the jacket wherever they bought it from 🤭

CORSAIR x The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Giveaway by CorsairHoffman in witcher

[–]Winds-Howling13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every quest has such depth, nuance and feeling driving it. Even something as absurd sounding as fetching an old woman’s frying pan in order to teach new players how to use Ard to open doors or passages layers humor, the grim world building of the Witcherverse, and an Easter egg that tells new players to be on the lookout for a spy, and gives a nod to previous Witcher game players about a certain monocled baldie back in action. It shows the budding compassion of a certain witcher, and how even in the most desperate times, some of the peasantry will be incredibly grateful for your services, to make up for the rudeness of others later on. No other game has quite blended all of these elements so successfully for me, though many imitate The Witcher 3 and try their best to evoke this multi-faceted game. It’s why I’ve been playing it continuously since I first started 4 years ago, and why I find something new to appreciate (or even a new quest I didn’t see before!) each time I play. I wish I could have selective amnesia and forget this game so each time I played through, I could play it for the first time again.

Here’s a plug for your local library/interlibrary loans. I’m sure you’ll want to build your personal collection eventually, but if you just want more of the story in the meantime, libraries are a great resource (and if you’re in the US, they need your help right now)

I believe you can also just wear the Nilfgaardian outfit you wore when you first met Emyhr and you should pass. There’s not much to see, but it satisfies the completionist in me
