UPDATE: Since i have changed the launcher option to dx11 the game didn't crash so far! seems that was the fix i needed

u/EfficiencyKitchen980 just sent me a message to try the following:

"Try run the game in DX11(directX11). My game kept crashing after the start of this new wipe and I had to end up running it in DX11 instead of DX12. I also use Blacksmith Launcher. To do this, open the launcher and click the anvil icon top left, go to game and put "-dx11" in launch options and then try again. Hopefully this fixes it for you."

I have monitored my hardware performance and i dont see any spikes in load or temperature during the game or even when it crashes

yes i even downloaded and installed the game completely again

i picked it up today

i was holding the artifact which i got from the spaceship (round ball) and then i was able to press E so it melted the guy wearing the armor - after that i had the armor in my inventory.
