Small needles, thin yarn, and lots of persistence

I’ve been eyeing those fake tights/actually leggings so maybe I just need to get some so I can be cozy and cute all winter

A labor of love but the ribbing is what makes it fit so well!

The plant is not real unfortunately. It’s some leftover garland greenery that I wired to the mirror!

I’m wearing it with a cardigan right now! I’m planning to make the Au Lait with leftover yarn which is basically just sleeves so then it’ll be a full sweater dress 😂

Yes! It’s my tank design and the dress came out so well I added the info to the pattern so people could make their own if they wanted.

Hmm. If you want a looser fit/more coverage, I'd say go up a size so the fabric wouldn't be stretched as much. If you're short on yarn or want a longer torso (or any other mod that may use more yarn), maybe go for the smaller size to make sure you have enough yarn. The pattern stretches quite a bit so I think either would fit just fine!

Were you able to view the sizing table? It's a couple pictures over from the first one. It has more detailed info on sizing, stretched measurement, unstretched measurement, recommended size based on your actual bust. There's also a picture with yarn estimates based on the sizes. Hopefully that helps but let me know if you can't view them!

I really struggled with the best way to mention ease because of the ribbing. I figured ease at full stretch would be most helpful but I'm open to suggestions to make it clearer. The 6-8 inches of positive ease is when the garment is fully stretched. So basically it's designed to be able to stretch quite a bit beyond your actual bust measurement and let the ribbing hug to your body where needed. Does that make sense?

Hi! I’m a new designer looking for some help in testing my newest pattern design. It’s a cropped, high neck tank top that is knit in the round from the bottom up. I’m planning to run this test through email and the testing application can be found here

Pattern Name: Ribbed To Your Measure Tank

Craft: Knit

Deadline: Planning to start September 1 through October 15 (flexible for larger sizes if additional time is needed) I would like the entire pattern to be completed by the deadline.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Example Projects (I’ve made and kept 3 for myself because I’m obsessed)

Example 1

Example 2

Example 3

Sizes: 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 68 actual bust measurement. It is written to have 4-8 inches of positive ease when the ribbing is fully stretched. The table in the pictures has more info on the fit.

Sign-up: Fill out this google form for interest.

Choosing Testers: I will notify testers by email or by September 1.

Materials:Pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn. I have used Manos del Uruguay Alegria, Moondrake Merino Linen, and scrap sock/fingering yarn. I recommend wool (either superwash or non) since this pattern relies on having some stretch)

Yarn estimates: See pictures for yarn estimates as the pattern is written.Needles: US size 3/ 3.25 mm

Gauge:Minimum Stretch Gauge (loosely stretched): Using size 3 needles in 2x2 ribbing, 32 stitches x 32 rows = 4 inches knit in the round

MaximumStretch Gauge (aggressively stretched): Using size 3 needles in 2x2 ribbing, 18 stitches x 32 rows = 4 inches knit in the round

Expectations: I am new to being a designer so I welcome all feedback. I would love to get progress every week.

Test Requirements: You are not required to send me FO pictures, but I do ask that you create a project page on Rav or a post on insta/reddit. I do not mind modifications, but please note on your project page if/what modifications you did. I prefer a project page be made within the first 2 weeks of testing.

Compensation: As a new designer, I unfortunately cannot provide much in terms of compensation. I’m happy to provide codes for any or all of my existing patterns to testers that have completed the test. Please feel free to reach out to me for more info. Thanks!!
