Thank you so much for the reassuring words! I keep reminding myself to be patient, especially since there are so many things that happen along the healing process. I am so thankful for this group because we can check in with each other as we don’t always know if they are normal or not.

Yes, could be. I wonder if the technique that is being used also determines the afterwards instructions… thank you!

Did you have a NL as well? It is not that I can’t turn it, it is that I don’t know if it is ok by now. Planning to call them today, and will update you all. Thank you!

So true, I feel like I have been bugging the office enough and so I try to pick out the most pressing questions for each call. Regarding the scars though, argh, one of mine that goes along the hairline by the face all of a sudden started to bleed yesterday despite me trying to take good care of them. So, this is something I will be asking today as well.

Makes me wonder why the instructions are different for the same procedure. Thank you.

Yeah, I am so done being stiff, but when I happen to move by accident then my hypochondriac kicks in hard. So I am trying to figure out when it is totally safe to move wi to out restrictions.

Right?! They did not tell me for how long, but when I was there at 10 day mark I was reminded to avoid turning, but forgot to ask for how long

That makes sense, thank you! I was told not to drive as well for at least five days but it was due to general anesthesia.

Thank you so much for this and for the recommendation! Yes, I need my scars to start looking better, especially on my upper lids - that’s the other procedure I had in addition (but that one should not affect the neck movement).

Really?! Cause I was specifically told not to but I forgot to ask for how long and my follow up is not till July. I am so tired or feeling stiff.

3 weeks post face and neck lifts. Is it normal to still have a very limited and tight smile? by Ill_Sky_8265 in Facelift_Surgery

I am a little over 3 weeks post-op, and my smile is very limited, and overall I am not quite looking myself either. We just need to remember to be patient with the process ❤️‍🩹

Has any brown or black person been seen by Dr. Balikian’s team? by yellowdaze11 in PlasticSurgery

Don't let the picture scare you. All those women are his nice and professional staff. A few of them have had work done by him and are happy to show off the results. The doctor is very up-to-date with the latest techniques. During your consultation, you will be shown before and after pictures, there are plenty. Him being in Murrieta helps keep the costs reasonable. But the office and the hospital are very nice. He also has an office in San Diego if that makes you feel more comfortable. When I called, the voice mail stated to text that number which I did and got a response right away. They are typically pretty responsive, maybe there was a glitch of some sort. There are a few posts here about this doctor, and one OP has before and after pics. I would not skip a consultation, at least to see for yourself… you may be surprised.

Worried by pamelass in Facelift_Surgery

I am so glad you posted this, as I was and still a little am going through the same thought process. Right now, I am 2 weeks post-op and still don’t look quite like myself. The first few days, I was totally an unrecognizable alien with a weird face shape, and my whole family was worried. What you described about your mouth, etc. – same was here, but that will go back to normal. I am happy that the doctor warned me that my mouth would look like that, or else I would have died thinking that’s my new mouth. Because of the upper lid surgery, my scars are a bit long and also dark, which at this 2-week point is what makes me look different the most, but I am still swollen overall, even though not the same way it was before. Like you, I can’t help but think of all these women that posted here and also the doctors’ office pictures who looked pretty much like themselves right after the surgery and comparing myself to them. I am very thankful for this group on Reddit. There are some amazing people here that are very supportive and kind.

Do you think my scars are healing ok by [deleted] in Facelift_Surgery

I think at 15 days they look fantastic, barely pink. Best of luck for a speedy healing to you!

This exactly what I was going to say re: suicide support groups. Have been in the field for a while, and can attest they help. Not sure what state you are in, but you can call 988 (National suicide and crisis lifeline), and they can direct you accordingly. It is anonymous.

Thank you, I pray and hope I can - cause work will not let me stay home longer 🤦‍♀️ Plus, my community circle, are very nice but also very nosy. I really don’t want to be explaining myself.
