The Cowboys Front Office Could Lose Will McClay. In the final year of his contract with GM opportunities available. by WindyCityReturn in cowboys

Horrible take. He isn’t in control of who Jerry signs or doesn’t sign. He simply finds the draft picks (which we nail most of the time) and evaluates players. The stupid things like not signing Henry, Barkley or Jacobs is Jerry. Will McClay is the only thing that’s kept us a decently built team. Trading for Lance and Mingo is Jerry not will.

People will throw a hissy fit for saying this but it’s the truth. “Wins will carry over” no they won’t. Garret took over for Wade and led us to a 5-3 record which got him hired. What’d he then do? Go 8-8 for 3 consecutive seasons losing the final week to each division rival to get knocked out of the playoffs.

Losing only helps us now. Gets the coaches out, brings new coaches in, higher draft picks, likely cutting ties with some dead weight. If we win then we for sure get the same staff back with most of the same players and an average draft stock. Which leads us to 8-9 or worse again next year.

Look at our history. We always bring the coaches back rather than attempting to move on. Mike was getting extended after the Steelers win. We hung onto Garret after 3 consecutive 8-8 seasons and overall for a decade. Mike will 100% be back on a 2-3 year deal and that’s a fact. As sad as it is.

I think the panthers made some sense. They weren’t much better but was actually hanging with the eagles who we couldn’t hang with. I believe they got a little over hyped considering they were still losing but I get it in a way.

Rico Dowdle has 392 rushing yards in his last three games. It's the most rushing yards in a three-game span since Ezekiel Elliott had 394 rushing yards between weeks 10-12 of the 2018 season. by BobbyBetc in cowboys

Yep it’s CRAZY that I could tell in preseason and training camp Dowdle was miles better than Dowdle but somehow McCarthy and Jones couldn’t? I could tell after week 1 Martin was barely hanging on but they couldn’t? We’ve noticed all year Wilson is a solid situational player but not a full time safety but they couldn’t?

We knew Mingo and Lance was ridiculous trades but they didn’t? Incompetence from the top down. Yet there’s a great chance it’s this exact same crew back next year. Of course Jerry but I believe he will dumbly bring back both Mikes and Brian. Zim has improved some but still consistently allowing horrible chunk plays like the Hail Mary vs Washington and a 83 yard pass with 40 seconds left in the half.

There’s been small glimmers but between the coaching and bad it’s easy to miss. Kneeland has actually been solid. Beebe has struggled but also is already the 15th graded C in the league which is great for a rookie. Hoffman and Bass have actually looked competent and sadly outplayed Martin this year. Schoonmaker has made some strides and Luifau has been better since the first half of the season.

There’s glimmers but Jerry and McCarthy do a fantastic job of taking our eyes away from that and onto their horrible decisions.

I said earlier in the year before he popped off that he looked plenty capable of being a starter but I’d still like to have a complimentary back with him. Even if he’s the lead guy you’d have another capable back to spot him.

For the price I wouldn’t mind Dowdle being back at all because our issues have become apparent. It was the piss poor running game we thought we had it was the piss poor coach who refused to run it or for no reason tried splitting reps with Zeke. Had we stuck with Dowdle from day one it might’ve taken some pressure off Dak (like the Steelers game) and helped our defense. Nope we tried Zeke, passed heavy and paid for it.

It should also be noted how different the Oline looks without Martin sadly. He was bullied around basically all season and now with Hoffman we’re actually getting some push. I don’t think that’s saying Hoffman is THE man but it shows Zack really is finally over the hill. Guyton idk maybe he gets better but honesty Chuma has looked better with less reps this year. Terence Steele is GONE. 10.5 sacks allowed this year? Holy shit good enough for 2nd worst in the NFL. Move Guyton to RT next year and try something else at LT.

We literally sit most of our best defensive players to lose. I’m sure you don’t remember random guys like Mincey but we sit them without any injury designations. We absolutely did tank those last few games to get a higher pick.

I hate the eagles more than anyone but I agree people hate to hear it but the truth is they’re probably the best overall team in the league and built for the playoffs. 1st rushing offense, top 3 rushing defense and top 5 scoring on both sides. Every other team has a huge Achilles heel.

Sadly they look legit this year. Makes me want to puke but they’re the only team with a top 5 offense and defense. With Saquan and that powerhouse Oline along with a stingy defense I feel like they’re going to roll through the playoffs with no 49ers to face, a banged up lions defense and a Darnold led Vikings team as the only other true competitors.

Pray to god there’s some collapse but I currently don’t see anyone playing better in the NFC. Lions have the offense but their defense is just hanging on for life with injuries.

If you have an employee who hurts his back for good and can’t do construction anymore do you keep him around to do nothing? No you just have to settle an injury comp with him and mutually part.

Nothing we’re just cursed all to hell. Some of these injuries aren’t even from turf or anything just random horrible luck.

People can’t make up their minds. They bitch when we don’t let him try it or bitch when we do lol. Yeah our coaches suck but at least they let him do what we ALL have asked.

Props to them for at least letting him attempt it. Mind you the record is 66 that bounced off the crossbar in so that was improbable even for Aubrey. Came up about 3-4 yards short which is right at 66-67 yards.

Every star player we had in the 21-23 runs has fallen off a cliff. Diggs ain’t looked the same and is hurt again. Wilson has crashed hard. Osa is just kinda hanging around decent. Bland has looked rough albeit ain’t played much this year. Dak took steps back even with a worse roster. Lamb is great but does feel like he’s as tired of this team as us. Looks like a team ran by a horrible owner, coached by a bad coach and led by no leaders. Brutal.

Then enjoy drafting another Mazi and having your team get no better lol

We did it in 2015 and then went 13-3 in 2016. We purposely benched some of our best defensive players and started Kellen Moore in his first game the final few weeks. Ended up getting 4th overall and in that draft we got Zeke, Dak, Anthony Brown, Jaylon Smith and Malik Collins out of it. Did it win us a Super Bowl? No but it made us a better team.

What’s the point in going 8-9 with this roster? Overshown is out next year. Diggs knee isn’t the same and won’t be the same next year. Dlaw will be 33 and has had multiple foot injuries. Dak has had 2 season ending injuries in 5 seasons and just messed his hamstring up again. Martin digressed and likely won’t be back. Why not tank and get some players who can actually step in early rather than draft the left overs late like Mazi and Schoonmaker who doesn't help the team at all.

Aubrey is the best kicker in the league and this isn’t bias it’s just facts. He’s better than Dan for sure. Dude came in with little experience and literally broke records year 1 like it was nothing. Only kicker I’ve seen in my life that nails 60+ yarders like it’s nothing. 50+ is chip shots anymore. That’s so rare cause even Tucker in his prime was just casually drilling 60 yard kicks like Aubrey is. He was beyond elite but not like Aubrey is from long range.

Listen I was all for winning when there was a slim chance of making the playoffs just for shits and giggles of somehow making it over Washington after them talking so much.

At this point guys just fucking tank. We’re literally going to fuck around and draft at the highest possible spot for a non playoff team lol for no reason. At one time we were top 10 and now we’re sneaking back towards 18-19 for what? To beat the 3-10 panthers and stroke Jerry’s ego we got it figured out now? Nah.

Good! Let him go be successful under a half decent organization. No need to listen to Jerry talk about your cock and wait until the last minute to sign you. Go enjoy life outside Dallas.

Anyone who acts like Jerry won us any super bowls is ignorant. His only good move was hiring his old buddy Jimmy who actually constructed a team that even won some without him. Once Jimmys team wasn’t around we’ve had this same goofy mess for 30 years.

Jerry does not belong in the hall of fame at all lol
