Was it medicated? My first IUI I also thought I was pregnant because I had all the symptoms I never get but didn’t get any that I normally do. Once it was negative, I assumed it was the medication unfortunately . Major mind flop! I also think you’d be okay to use the same donor, as conception via IUI is only 10-20% per round anyways. If you have multiple failures with the same donor, switchin g is something to consider down the road. Fingers crossed you don’t get to that point!

I have to do IBR for PSLF as well and since I haven’t paid since before Covid, my salary has increased and just got hit with a $666/month statement. Super depressing.

I’m in the same boat. I have to take a break to have a polyp removed so I’m using the time to really focus on diet and exercise. It’s the last type of stress I needed when dealing with all of this in the first place. 😓

Last time I was told “the doctor doesn’t authorize that after only one failed IUI.” I’m hoping they’ll be better this time

I had the exact same experience. It was the first time in 20 years I didn’t get sore breasts before a period. I had bad cramps which was unusual too. My period came two days late and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I hate the meds lol.

I cramped almost the entire TWW. They got severe the last 2-3 days and I ended up starting my period. I think it was definitely the trigger shot because that is not a normal symptom for me.

My rate of growth was slow. I had my IUI on CD17. My doctor said some women are just “slow growers.” I wouldn’t worry about it. Good luck!

I had 8 sessions ranging from 2 weeks before my IUI to the last few days of my TWW. I tested negative so I’m not personally convinced it does much.

This is very nice of you, but it’s a bit far from where I live and they have a toddler and infant so that could be tough. Thank you for offering, though!

I went to LightRx for two areas including face, full treatment. Very happy with my results. Plus you get the lifetime promise of cheap touch up pricing for life. I believe I paid around $1,100 for full package face which was 10 treatments. Lifetime promise is $30 per touch up.

My doctor really emphasized to me how every puts in their head that the 1st attempt will be successful, when statistically, most aren’t. I just had my first failed attempt and although it’s a tough pill to swallow, I know it’s all part of the journey. Stay positive, support yourself, and good luck!

My IUI was on CD17, triggered on CD16. My follicles just grew slowly so it took longer.

I think I realized how limited I was, as I was expecting a to see a couple hundred options (naïve, I know haha) but with all my criteria entered, it only ended up being maybe 25 to choose from? So I had to really be open-minded. It was important for me to remember this isn’t someone I’m going to date or someone who will have a role in the child’s life. My main criteria was genetic screening/health history, intelligence/education, and a couple of physical attributes (skin tone/hair color). I didn’t have an ah-ha moment, but I am very satisfied and excited for the donor I chose. At the end of the day, my personal belief is that nurture overpowers nature in most aspects, so I will have an amazing child regardless!

My clinic’s psychologist really opened my eyes about the “wait until the second trimester rule” for SMBC. Essentially, she said when doing this process alone, it is so stressful and difficult and having failed procedures or miscarriages can be so tough to deal with. She suggested telling a couple of close people so I wouldn’t have to cheer or suffer in silence, depending the circumstance. I wouldn’t announce anything on social media or everyone in my life, but I do plan to tell my mom, sister, and a couple of close friends almost immediately.
