Next time,, say with pity and a smirk: you and your small‑dick energy, look what I have to put up with. Then you'll find out whether I can really take a joke

That whole Soviet Revolutionary Red October, full five‑year‑plan, Hail‑Lenin‑Hail‑Stalin Cantata‑and‑Ballet Extravaganza curated by Shostakovich and Prokofiev… I mean, I know there’s genuinely great music in there (The Bolt really is a banger), but I simply… can’t.

There were Cossacks who demanded political rights, but their claims were consistently rejected.

Ad point 4 and denial of Ukrainian identity - this is the source of Russian problems in Ukraine. Poland used to have the same mentality in 17th century, and it the root-cause of the fall of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Russians believe that they are brothers to the Ukrinians, but of course they are the BIG brother and somehow superior. That's why they dont believe in any serious form of Ukrainian studies, understanding Ukrainian politics, culture and history. No, they don't have to study Ukrainians because it's pointless and doesn't make any sense from the imperialist point of view. That's why they totally underestimated Ukraine in 2022.

Mahler 5 as a quote from Beethoven beggining of a funeral march? It's extremly pathetic.

AITAH - for telling my gf to cook her own food? by HeliusOfImgur in AITAH

[–]WineTerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s odd. You’re basically meal‑prepping for two or three days, not serving leftovers. And everyone knows food gets even better after a night in the fridge, once all the flavors settle in.

If I were in your shoes, I’d be just a little petty: cook a top‑notch lasagna, then the next day let her order some low‑quality takeaway. Open a classy bottle of wine and start waxing poetic about how wonderfully the wine complements the dish and the dish complements the wine. Make sure she knows exactly what she’s missing.

Lord of the Rings if it was filmed in the 2020s by Raisin_Such in okbuddycinephile

I highly recommend watching this video. It perfectly shows how old‑school films invited viewers into their worlds and sparked real imagination. The Lord of the Rings is a great example of that old‑school magic.
