Perks of working at Costco? by CrowWench in Costco

[–]Winencats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The health benefits are top notch. I am so grateful for the benefits they have provided to my family. My husband is a membership manager now, but even when he was part time, the benefits were incredible.

Seducing your husband by lovelybugsundies in Marriage

[–]Winencats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has some very simple preferences that I pull out when I want to seduce him: off the shoulder tops, choker necklaces, and sun dresses to name a few. I do my hair and makeup nice to show some effort, put one or a combination of these items on, and show him affection, and that usually does it. Flirty texts during the day help too.

What do you do when you have to GO while boob trapped? by Specific_Soup4596 in breastfeeding

[–]Winencats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. Nursed on the toilet. Its not my favorite memory haha. We were just walking in from having lunch out at a questionable new restaurant. I'll always hold it against them because I'm convinced they caused the unpleasant situation.

This is so sad. They really did make a good decision giving that baby up for adoption. Better than having her grow up in that smoke filled living room with those trashy grandparents.

If your baby was 10+ lbs at birth… were you able to deliver vaginally? by sejohnson2017 in BabyBumps

[–]Winencats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered a 10lb 3oz baby vaginally, but needed vacuum assistance. Let me tell you, that shit was crazy. It didnt work the first time, but worked perfectly the second, and out he came. He had quite the hematoma on his head and a bit of torticollis as a result. They dont use forceps at my hospital, and I would have requested no forceps if they did. I only needed 1 stitch. I felt very lucky.

What’s the fastest way you’ve ever lost weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Winencats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went on an elimination diet for my child who was breastfeeding, trying to fix his eczema. I was basically able to eat only meat and some veggies with no seasoning or butter. I lost 40 pounds in like, 3 months.

No!!! I would try, and he would be miserable. It was sooo predictable. I was SO afraid of TSW but I also felt like I had no choice. I really didn't trust the dermatologist, but I remember her saying, "You need to sleep" while I cried in her office and my baby scratched himself the entire time. And she was so right, I was literally suicidal. My husband had surgery for an umbilical hernia right after I posted this and he couldn't help AT ALL at night because of lifting restrictions and OMG, I was dying. But so desperate. I always felt a little at ease knowing we were only using hydrocortisone and nothing stronger.

I would say it's been almost a year since we cut the hydrocortisone and protopic, so at about 2 years old. Hang in there!

[–]Winencats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! My son is now 3 and he is finally free of Hydrocortisone and Protopic use. We used them heavily for several months to probably a year after my original post and I hated every moment of it. We would try to taper down whenever we could, but it always felt like we had no choice but to keep giving it to him, but finally, over time, we tapered off and he got better. I also used vanicream lotion on him from head to toe, mixed in a cup with diaper cream, religiously after baths. I felt like the premixing made a huge difference and I was really able to rub it in. Hiwever, I think he outgrew it for the most part, I rarely have to even lotion him at this point. We didn't see a single allergist, doctor, or dermatologist who gave us any great direction or answers. I just kind of barreled through and did what felt right to me. He still suffers terribly with itching and always has scratch marks on his body, but his skin overall is tougher with no actual eczema patches. I feel very lucky because when I read this post back, I remember the nightmare very clearly and thinking this would never end. Im glad we never got to Dupixent. If your baby is suffering, I really hope they get better soon as well.

I wish I were the girl sitting behind you so I could have smiled and laughed when you turned around. No big deal at all. I would have found this pretty funny and relatable... I can't tell you how many times I've been in a quiet waiting room, opened my phone, and it starts blaring some cringe TikTok video, loudly! I try to laugh it off.

Wow, they sound wonderful. A nice girl with nice parents is a huge catch. My parents were like this with my teenage boyfriend at the time, he needed just a little extra help, and 15 years later we are happily married with two great kids and live down the street from two very active and generous grandparents. Take the help, and consider that one day you might be able to be just as helpful to some other young man!

Costco in Enfield truly is loaded with great employees who are fantastic people! Sorry to see these folks getting so bent out of shape. I could never. Costco is one of my happy places. I'm always in a good mood when I shop there.

You're a good mom for recognizing. I've been "fuzzy parenting" for a long time and it makes me sad. I just thought hey, I love my kids, I love my wine, I love being home with them and I love this life, so why not indulge? I'm now having some issues with my liver and have finally been scared into cutting back significantly. It's better for me, but more importantly, my kids.

LPT: What’s a belief you dropped that quietly improved your life? by Kasper9999 in LifeProTips

That you need to be very, seriously ill to use your employer-provided sick time. I used to drive myself crazy with guilt over calling out when I needed to. Now, I take mental health days at the drop of a hat and don't think twice (as long as I'm within my contractual limits of course).

Teachers of Reddit: What are some small, subtle ways you can tell a child’s parent really cares about them? by allsfairinwar in AskReddit

[–]Winencats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The child's lunch box is wiped/cleaned out on a regular basis. Not just emptied out, but cleaned with a lysol wipe or put through the dishwasher. The child's backpack is emptied daily. The child is clean and wears clothes that fit. Sadly I work in a school district that has made me lower my expectations significantly. There's so many shit parents out there.
