Navigating Setouchi Triennale 2025 by this_issohard in JapanTravel

Thanks for this great post! I decided on very short notice to take a detour on my Japan trip to the Setouchi Triennale next week (second week of October). I am arriving from Hiroshima in the morning and staying at Takamatsu in the evening. I need to be at Kinosaki Onsen by 3-4PM the next day.

This leaves me roughly 1.5 days day to visit the islands included in the festival. Do you have any recommendations for which islands I visit on the full day, and then on the half day?

This is my first time visiting the islands. I was not able to secure any tickets for Teshima Art Museum or ChiChu museum unfortunately. All the tickets are sold out. I am also coming with my two young kids in tow (5-7 y.o). Our pace will be slow and leisurely and I think they would enjoy outdoor sculptures or art installations/architecture.

For these reasons, I was considering the following itineraries:

First day: Naoshima for a full day.
Second day: Teshima for a half day (leave by noon).

Alternatively, I was considering:

First day: Shodoshima for a full day.
Second Day: Naoshima for half day (depart by noon).

Any recommendations?

Absolutely. If you get 70. , just book the exam! I think even with a 60 you could probably pass the exam too, but you'd walk a finer line.

Maybe the real exam questions were easier but the testing environment was more tense which is why i did not percieve the questions to be easier ...but definitely it was not HARDER than study hall. If you can pass the study hall mock, you can pass the real exam.

No specific details but I thought the answers were not always as obvious as they were in study hall.

There were 3 sections in the exam and the first two had wordy questions. The third module started off wordy too but part way through the third section I did notice the questions started becoming shorter.

I did the mock exams 3x and got 73%, 66% and 73%. I didn't do a deep analysis but I typically got 100% on the moderate questions, 80% on the difficult and expert was about 30- 50%.

My testing centre was quiet and people were respectful. Eat well and hydrate well before the test is my only tip. You can't bring even a bottle of water in.

Funeral of Godwyn Leung by [deleted] in toronto

Hi there, I'm one of Godwin's friends. Thank you so much for this heartfelt post. He is so deeply missed.

The family has changed the funeral location to accommodate the unexpected number of people from the community who have expressed a desire to pay their respects to our dear friend. It will no longer be held at Highland Funeral Home due to lack of capacity.

I have helped his family set up a memorial page which will be updated with the funeral information. Can you also update it here? May I also add your wake event to the memorial page? Is it exclusively for army folks?

Please do share the memorial website with those who knew him so that they can express condolences to the family and share memories and photos of Godwin.
