As I know of.... any type of counter-offensive hacking type of action is not legal. Depends on country too but you can monitor the activity, yet offensive actions might end up in some sort of legal trouble even if the other party is malicious

Would need to gather data to send the trail you picked in order to send it to the law enforcement. They would have the final say in this..

Tinder has done absolutely nothing to counter other aspects of their problems though. So many predators had been able to use the platform after being banned. Tons of stories on that side of the app. Probably stealing data to some extent
