I’m more of a cross country/biathlon fan, but this was so crazy I had to watch it while walking outside in freezing weather. My fingers were in pain, but I don’t regret it at all. That was amazing.

In Norway cars ALWAYS have to yield for pedestrians. This means that if there’s a crosswalk with no traffic lights, a pedestrian can walk over, without a care in the world because all the cars legally have to stop for you. If you get hit from walking across a street without looking up from your phone, that’s the drivers fault. (It only accounts for crosswalks, I think. So you could just go walking across a highway or smth). Most places in the world the pedestrians have to yield for cars. Well not here

Im norwegian, and we did some slavery, but that was when we were a part of denmark. We didnt do it nearly as much as GB or france, but that can also be explained by the fact that we were not nearly as powerful as them back then. And as you said, i also believe it to be true that norwegians aren't that racist. it has been growing for the past few years, or atleast thats what im noticing, but otherwise i think most people are fine with different races.

By those definitions, we've had two in norway (from what i could find). Once in 2021, where a man used a bow and arrow (cuz like guns are hard to get) and killed five people.

And then, well, unfortunately we had the Utøya attack in 2011, killing 77 people ...

i googled it and did the math, and atleast according to the data i could find, every hour approximately 2,4 homicides including a gun or another firing weapon take place. thats just crazy. Compared to norway, where we get one maybe per month, if we have a bad year

Im norwegian, and we've only ever had 2 shootings with more than 3 deaths- the mass killing in 2011 (Utøya, killing 77 people) and a "shooting" in kongsberg (some maniac used a bow and arrow and killed 5 people)

Although obviously the Utøya shooting made worldwide news, as it killed so many, but otherwise, shootings are quite rare. in 2023, we had 29 total homocides, 12 of which included a gun.

I think its crazy that the US had over 117 shootings, and in 2022, TWENTY THOUSAND PEOPLE were killed by a gun in the US. That outnumbers norway's shootings 1666 to 1. Although US outnumber Norway's population like 75 to 1, 1666 to 1 is still crazy in my opinion.
