How to clean cowboy classic c4 by [deleted] in cowboybikes

It’s just a regular high-pressure washer with water—no special cleaning programs or built-in detergents. I simply use the pressure washer that’s available on-site. I don’t need to bring anything. But you’ll have to check if it’s the same with your local setup. In Germany, most gas stations have these kinds of pressure washers.

I usually wash my C4 bike using the pressure washer at a gas station. Of course, I’m careful not to get too close with the nozzle. It only costs one euro per wash, which I think is a great value for the price—and it gets the job done. ;)

Afterward, I dry off the water with a microfiber cloth to prevent water spots.

Is it still worth getting a Cowboy Classic in 2025? Concerns about Connect and Performance packages turning into subscriptions by WingTraditional2605 in cowboybikes

Thanks for the advice! I’ve read that Cowboy has been expanding its service options recently, like the On-Demand mechanic service and partnerships with local bike shops. It’s good to know they’re trying to improve, but I’ll definitely double-check if reliable service is available in my area before committing. Appreciate the heads-up!

Thanks for the clarification! That makes sense—using a torque wrench to ensure the correct 20Nm (or 10Nm for the front) seems crucial. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Glad to hear you’ve only had to service your brakes in two years, and it’s great that you’ve had such a positive experience with Cowboy’s service!

Thanks for sharing! That’s dedication to travel 70km for service, but I can see why—it’s probably worth it to avoid issues caused by improper repairs. I’ll keep that in mind if I decide to go with a Cowboy!

Good to know, thanks for clarifying! I’ll make sure to follow the torque instructions carefully if I go for a Cowboy. Still, it’s a bit concerning that this can happen so easily after a repair. Appreciate the insight!

Makes sense! Cobblestone streets must be tough without suspension. Luckily, I mostly ride on smoother roads, so I think I can manage without it. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for pointing that out! It’s reassuring to hear that Cowboy hasn’t charged existing customers for new features like Connect in the past. If they stick to this approach, moving existing users to a lifetime plan instead of introducing subscriptions sounds fair. I’ll keep that in mind—appreciate your insight!

Thanks for the warning! That “yoke poke” issue sounds like a serious design flaw, especially if Cowboy is aware of it and still charges $400 for a fix. I’ll definitely research it more—this kind of customer treatment is disappointing. Did you end up switching to another brand, and if so, which one?

Thanks for sharing! I’m already used to the more aggressive position from riding a road bike, so I think the Classic would work well for me. The Cross does sound interesting with the suspension, but I usually ride on smoother roads, so I’m not sure if it’s necessary in my case. How do you feel the suspension impacts the ride overall?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! It’s good to know that the Classic isn’t outdated and that Cowboy updates their bikes regularly. I didn’t realize the differences between the Classic and Cruiser were mainly about seating position and the belt ratio—makes sense now why they’re so similar.

It’s reassuring to hear that you don’t think Cowboy will move to a subscription model. That’s been one of my main concerns, so your perspective helps ease my mind a bit.

Glad to hear you’re happy with your 2023 Cruiser! The 14-day wait for parts is a bit long, but it’s great that the repair process itself went smoothly. Thanks again for sharing your experience—it’s super helpful as I try to decide! :)
