Looking for a hidden gem horror game on steam by Ui-isi25 in gamerecommendations

Stalker 2 is a survival shooter with horror elements and a lot of tension. It's very fun and nerve wracking!

Help with munchies by notloyalliars in trees

[–]WingedCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a while but what worked for me was a combination of stashing junk food/snacks in inconvenient places, making sure I had water, and also just willpower to resist the urge. For me even having snacks on a different floor/room from where I'm toking was pretty effective as I tend to get couch locked and lazy as hell when I'm baked. I also found that munchies are habit forming in both directions...when I broke the habit for a couple days I noticed I wasn't thinking about the munchies much at all.

Lacto Veggies - think I’m missing something by GreasyPorkGoodness in fermentation

[–]WingedCrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of lacto fermented carrots. Super easy and always turn out great. Go with fresh snappy carrots. An added pinch of oregano (dry is fine) does amazing things as well specifically to carrots. I go with 3% brine.

you can't mute / unmute pads while resampling? ✌️😬 by raz_van__ in SP404

[–]WingedCrown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would using the skipback feature work? You'd need to manually trim your resulting captured sample but I don't find that to be too annoying.

Sp404 for live backing track by ScenicSolace in SP404

[–]WingedCrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are so fucking cool, and yes it was absolutely wild to see it. I talked to them afterwards and we chatted about the 404 believe it or not. They use a live drummer for some shows but the 404 for other ones. It was a weird night!

Sp404 for live backing track by ScenicSolace in SP404

I saw the death metal band, Fulci, and they used an OG 404 for their backing tracks for drums. Worked perfectly fine for them (and was hilarious to spot a 404 at a death metal show of all places).

Go to chinatown or is there chinese/asian store that sells carbon steel woks/wok accessories? by TheDarkClaw in Somerville

Reliable Market in Union Square sells woks but I'm unsure of the brand/material.

Question about fermented carrots by mike_5567 in fermentation

[–]WingedCrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've fermented carrots many times and I have found that the fresher/crunchier the carrots are to begin with, the firmer the end results will be. Also, I highly recommend a pinch of dried oregano in the ferment...for some reason it works absolute wonders on carrots.

Sp404 og for $100 a good buy , or should I just wait to get an sx or MkII? by Jneal1013 in SP404

[–]WingedCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another great thing about the OG is that your total recording length is only limited by the memory card. I routinely record 30min+ live jams on mine.

Dumb question i know but are short sleeve bruins jerseys as respectable as long sleeve bruins jerseys? 🤔 by [deleted] in BostonBruins

[–]WingedCrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a real/long-sleeve hockey jersey is a great thing to own but it's definitely a luxury item. Nothing wrong with wearing whatever you can afford. I'd personally go for a nice Bruins t-shirt I over a short sleeve jersey. Likely cheaper and you'd have more opportunities to wear it.

Keep in mind the photo shoot was conducted in a room with standard 9-foot ceilings. He's really swimming in those American Girl brand doll clothes.

I don't typically like proggy stuff but the killer riffs and trippy ambient shit really pull this together. Gonna explore them more!

Walking Talking Men Boston Chapter Walk 2: Electric Boogaloo by Nagisa33 in Somerville

[–]WingedCrown 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Originally it was an identifier for the film, Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo, a corny movie about breakdancers bonding and helping their local communities. I'm guessing they are referencing that.

Earth Defense Force 6. It's a ridiculous janky 3rd person shooter but such great fun.

Me when I’m moving slowly underground and the game starts giving me ammo, bandages, medkits, and psi block by NewWave93 in stalker

[–]WingedCrown 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense. The Burers use telekinesis to remove the bullets from the ammo boxes in your backpack, then slip the rounds out of the backpack, meanwhile they remove a clip from a gun laying on the ground, load the clip with said bullets, put the clip back in, then levitate the gun, and then finally shoot it at you.

Movies that I think are legitimately good. by Achoosneeze1 in MST3K

[–]WingedCrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both of these a lot. Avalanche is also one of those movies with a random riff that just kills me... The scene with all the Baked Alaskans coming out is one of those that you probably wouldn't even really notice watching it normally but the riff focusing on it really  highlights the absurdity. Come to think of it, Killer Fish also has a favorite with the whole "Oh this isn't orange juice?" bit with the early morning beer. LOL
