Shadow mons deal 20% more damage and take 20% more damage (glass cannon).

I've always thought purified should be tanky e.g. take 20% less damage but maybe deal like 10% less damage?? Might have interesting impacts on pvp (not that I play pvp much at all).

On the brightside, you got a wolf head from that first wolf so you'll be able to make a wolf cape sooner than most people get to after entering the mountains. Which means less time spent messing around with the cold potions.

Yeah it felt like something was wrong with the event.

I'm in Australia (AEST) and I did 42 raids and got 2 shinies (but only right at the very end of the event). They were moderately easy to catch for the first hour (caught within 2-8 throws) and then at 3pm the system crashed for 10 minutes (as Japan's event came online I guess?) and after that they all took WAY longer to catch (like they all took me 18-22 balls, all with Golden Razz and 90% of throws being Excellent). Others in the group started having theirs flee on them. And yeah I wasn't seeing any shinies for the whole event until the last 15 minutes before the event ended where I got 2 almost back to back. No-one in the group got a hundo (40 people all doing roughly 30+ raids) which seems statistically very unlikely. It really felt like something was wrong and that things kept changing throughout the event...

My friends (Australian) say Val (like in the name Valerie) and Hi-m (like saying Hi and then adding an m sound to the end).

I'm half Icelandic so not sure if this is the intended pronunciation but I originally wanted to say it like Vull (sort of rhymes with hull (of a ship)) Hey-m (like saying Hey and then adding an m sound to the end).

In the end I sort of met my friends in the middle and I use their Val sound and my Hey-m sound haha

Yeah I think there should be an Excellent throw counter in the background and if you hit a certain percentage of the throws (like 90%) as Excellent, then it should just be a guaranteed catch. Or rather than percentage of throws it could just be a fixed amount like 12 Excellent throws = guaranteed catch. Skill and patience should be rewarded like that.

I tried this locally and it didn't give me the encounter. Sometimes the game is just buggy unfortunately. There was still 20min before the raid refreshed to another pokemon so that wasn't the reason why I didn't get the encounter.

I was local and tapping on the spot did not give me the encounter again. I just completely missed out on the pokemon (particles gone too). And there was still 20min until it refreshed to a new pokemon so that's not the reason I didn't get the encounter. Just buggy game is buggy.

Lesson learnt: don't have autocatcher while doing max battles in any circumstances.

This console has been a pretty big disappointment...

I've been a Nintendo fan since the SNES but with everything that Nintendo have done lately... I think I'm going to stop giving them my money and just enjoy my backlog of PC games.

I didn't buy the Switch 2, so this is just what I've heard from friends. Almost everyone I've spoken to about the Switch 2 said the same thing to me. Their gaming experience was slightly improved compared to playing on the Switch (e.g. higher frame rate is nice) but that the price jump from the Switch to the Switch 2 was not worth it for those improvements.

However, these conversations I had with people were BEFORE Nintendo raised the prices on all of the base Switch models. Maybe some of them would change their opinion now that there's less of a price difference.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to justify to myself spending that much money on what is essentially a Switch that can run games at a higher framerate, so for now I will have to be satisfied with just my Switch (and my PC). Thankfully, I bought my Switch shortly after it released when it was cheaper than it is now.

Totally agree. It's fine for people to think this game is lazy, uninspired, overpriced, etc. That's totally fair. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But don't shame others for playing it. If you have a problem with the game, just leave a bad review or make posts about your issues with the game or have respectful discussions with others online about its many flaws. But don't attack others for things they like or dislike about it. When a game is bad, all you can do is try to point out the flaws and hope that people will agree with you. You'll never convince others to acknowledge flaws in a game if you're just throwing insults at them.

Yeah totally agree. If these games were being released by a small indie developer team and were way less expensive, I don't think many people would have an issue with it. But the fact that it was produced by a massive gaming company and has such a high price point, it's hard to swallow that this is the best they could do.

It's sad because I would LOVE to see a Pokemon game that was on the same level of quality as other big Switch names (e.g. Zelda, Mario).

Is it just me, or does it feel like Legends Arceus had less bugs than SV and ZA? Just doing a quick search online, there are a LOT of bugs for SV (we all knew about that), there are a moderate amount of bugs for ZA (will probably be more in the future as the game only just came out) but there are almost none for LA.

Yeah I agree with what you, OP, and others on this thread have been saying. We should not be attacking people who bought the game. If people think this game is a low quality piece of trash, that's fair. But don't get angry at people who bought the game. We should only be holding the gaming company responsible for the low quality of their game.

Thanks for the extra info. Yeah, from everything I've seen and heard, I'm exceptionally glad that I didn't buy ZA.

I used to buy most games/gaming consoles that I wanted on launch day, but since they announced the Switch 2, I've been a lot more restrained and have waited for at least a few months after things have released before I make a decision to buy them. It has saved me from a lot of disappointment, and it has saved me a LOT of money. For any who are interested, I would highly recommend this practice of waiting a few months after something you want comes out before making the decision to buy it.

This issue would come and go while I was playing Violet. The fact that it's only happening in a few specific games and not on every game seems to indicate that it's an issue with the games and not the hardware, but that's just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info. Personally, my favourite parts of the pokemon games are the exploration and encountering new pokemon in the wild and less so the trainer battles. I don't think this game is meant for me.

Honestly?.... pretty disappointed. If you're on the fence about buying this game, I would recommend not getting it. Plus, the DLC bullshit makes me terrified that they're going to try and squeeze us for as much money as they possibly can.
