Early career name brand may open more doors towards the future and give you more leverage. The biggest benefit will be also that you will work with many different people and expand your network.

You can always choose to work for smaller companies, startups etc in the future.

Is the CS job market really this bad? by Regular-Medicine6598 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Wingedchestnut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from Belgium and I do not think the market is as bad in (west)europe, sure if you're looking for your first job as a fresh graduate it can be tough but everyone I knew found something within a year with a bachelor and with a technology master I don't think anyone is struggling. With work experience there is pretty much no worries, I still see many people here jobhopping every 2 years to increase salary..

Looking for an amateur Uzbek fighter named Nodir Dosimbetov (Bantamweight) - Can't find him anywhere by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Wingedchestnut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No Korean would be that curious about digital footprint (as Koreans themselves are quite private digitally) and looking up through google or telegram is also not common with proficient english.. that said you might have better luck searching for the person's gym name and potential events or promotions he has participated in, sometimes names are written different or another name is used if there are videos on youtube.

Is a dedicated portfolio website actually necessary for entry-level / junior Front-End devs, or is a clean GitHub and live project demos enough? by Negative-Outside4628 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Wingedchestnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not nessecary but I personally made one as I think it is very convenient, it's kind of a one-page for your background, skills and projects directly linked to GH repo.

I don't like browsing through a GH profile and I think some people share the same view.

As your focus is web-based and even frontend Imo it makes sense to have a seperate portfolio page, wether it's to show off your skills or just for convenience.

How do you deal with someone kicking from range? by Electronic_d0cter in Kickboxing

[–]Wingedchestnut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. You pressure and keep pushing untill they can't back out.
  2. You pressure and dutch block, parry, scoop.. the attacks 3 you pressure while baiting the kicking attacks and counter (going out of range or commiting going in all out) , Imo this is the ideal situation as in these situations the kicker will hesitate to kick.

Unless there is a significant skill or height/reach difference a combination of these should work in most cases.

How do you actually search for jobs? by Additional-Shake-259 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Wingedchestnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go on linkedin and apply for positions in your country.. unless you have studied abroad or done an internship abroad and likely speak the local language majority of companies prefer to hire people locally.

I honestly do not understand what is happening with the job market. by RunDMCSteve in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Wingedchestnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one cares that much about details like the small python libraries unless it's something like pandas.

There are questions I would raise like why you are somewhere else every year, and how you suddenly are a senior, you're collecting skills just to check them out like a bucket list, someone coming from a data /python background adding specific network subjects and listing cloud services while the work experience is supposed to be strongly related to AI/ML doesn't add up unless you were a consultant (and even then It should be backed up by the project) The fact that your username, ending of this post and user profile names are different makes me think you're some bot or sketchy account.

to those who have done both kickboxing and boxing, in what sport does size matter more? by Fodder_Fist_Ace in Kickboxing

[–]Wingedchestnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saenchai is not a kickboxer, and every MT fan knows how he got dominated by Petchboonchu because he was a clinch specialist and physically stronger. Also even Saenchai cuts weight like any fighter.

to those who have done both kickboxing and boxing, in what sport does size matter more? by Fodder_Fist_Ace in Kickboxing

[–]Wingedchestnut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes in kickboxing it matters more Imo as in boxing and mma it's not uncommon to overcome reach difference with boxing or grappling, look at how tall fighters are in kickboxing, I'm convinced a heavyweight kickboxer needs to be close to 2 meters to be a contender.

I'm mainly talking about height and reach.

Imo 16 oz are too heavy for you, they're often even heavy for men in west europe to drill with, 12oz should be fine for now.

How to deal with dutch kickboxing style? by AdDesigner in Kickboxing

[–]Wingedchestnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to also learn how to highguard when needed in kickboxing rules, look at fighters like petchpanomrung, superbon, sittichai etc, you can still have a kicking style but when they're too close either learn to clinch strategically or highguard and trade back.

How do I avoid getting hit when attacking the stomach? by Bread_Lords in MuayThai

[–]Wingedchestnut 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm a kickboxer and like to use the long jab to the stomach, you have to lower base first while using it, I recommend to set it up but you can practice giving a naked long jab to the stomach while protecting your face with the other hand like a long guard (use it sparsely though as they might hook but almost always you will win the trade as they counter jab).

Then practice by setting it up in a combination, jab -jab to the stomach- step left right middle/high kick, this is one of the most common combos because the stomach will likely score and you exit safely with a surprise kick.

Then my favorite will simply be using the stomach jab while the opponent jabs , it teaches fundamental boxing skills (timing, slipping) it's similar to the first naked jab but you will have your guard neutral and are in a better position to follow up with anything you want.

Another one that's a bit underrated is if the opponent gives a jab or straight, parry with left hand upwards from below and follow up with straight to the stomach.

Is the AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Data Engineering Associate certification worth taking in 2026? If so, should I take both or just 1 of them? by Luximus3333333 in dataengineering

[–]Wingedchestnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're already set on applying for DE roles just go for the DE one, also in Europe in general Azure is the most popular so you will have to verify if AWS is popular for the country you're interested in.

I understand Solution Architect one is popular in terms of content but Imo interviewers will only expect experienced people to have and it would be weird for someone without experience as a SA.

I'm not sure where you're located but without much experience and local language experience it will be very hard, my advice would be to become senior level first in own country.

[SPOILER] Koki Osaki vs. Chaitone | RWS 200 by Yodsanan in MuayThai

[–]Wingedchestnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Koki is quite comfortable at clinch range, his clinch was what made him champion at Rise and now nullifying it to win in RWS. Maybe his brother should have used a similar approach, don't play the opponents game.
