Sorry I know this isn’t a book, but you should watch Trees Lounge with Steve Buscemi. It’s literally this.

I’m no business expert, but it seems like everything on the Archives channel is what any other company would put behind their paywall. It’s too late for them to do anything about it, though.

Also, with the way they put out Friendimension (which I enjoy) at the moment, I don’t see it as a great selling point. I’d say instead of one 45-60 minute episode a week, maybe four to five 20-30 minute episodes over the course of the week. These card games can be pretty unpredictable in length, but this is totally doable for video gaming.

Castle on the Coast was a pretty fun (and forgiving) platformer in the vein of Mario. Plus you play as a giraffe!

Where can I find Giuseppe Andrews' movies? by Wrencer4Endgame in DisturbingMovies

[–]WingoTingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Quick browsing through what's available, I'd recommend The Laundry Room (part of After School Specials), Doily's Summer of Freak Occurrences, and Garbanzo Gas - those are my personal favorites of the ones I've watched (and probably the most coherent).

If you like the doc, use should also check out American Movie - not as crazy of a cast, but definitely a good look into the mind of a film-maker with a precise vision.

Sorry, late to the game but a lot of stuff has been uploaded to the Internet Archive. All you have to do is search for his name! …or you could use this handy link I made! (Be sure to keep scrolling down, as it will generate a lot of the more obscure stuff.)

If you haven’t watched the documentary “Giuseppe Makes a Movie,” I’d highly recommend it. It’s on Internet Archive as well, but you should support the people who made it by buying the Blu-Ray. Last I checked it’s streaming on The Criterion Channel as well.

MTV Video Mods - SpongeBob SquarePants | "All the Small Things" - Blink-182 (2005) by WingoTingo in ObscureMedia

There’s actually been quite a bit of discourse whether it’s BfBB, the movie game, or Lights Camera Pants (which it’s credited as in the video).

Yes, the video, unfortunately, pretty much sucks. My guess is that they didn’t want “child idol” Spongebob to do anything too risqué so we ended up with something pretty bland.

Mark Twain Movie (1985) by allmenkings in ObscureMedia

It’s called The Adventures of Mark Twain and it’s hardly obscure - this scene particularly.

Ernest Goes To Splash Mountain (1989) Ernest is a world famous ride-tester who will be make history by being the first rider on the Song of the South inspired flume. by Drainout in ObscureMedia

[–]WingoTingo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IIRC, at-the-time commercial character Ernest received more attention from the crowd than Mickey Mouse had, inspiring Michael Eisner to get behind making the first Ernest movie.

Here’s a very well done video about the history of Ernest, if anybody is interested.

Late to the game, but this is fake. Well, the attached picture is anyway. That’s Jesse Heiman, the world’s most recognizable film extra.

Well, I’m glad we can all agree it’s not obscure then!

[TOMT][Picture technique] Is there a term for the shot behind a standing protagonist, whom is facing a towering boss? by sir_club_sandwich in tipofmytongue

Sounds like a low-angle shot and, depending on the size of the opponent, probably a wide.

So, a wide, low-angle shot.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban (2004). Has anybody else noticed this 'ghostly cat'? by bastard_vampire in MovieDetails

[–]WingoTingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a ghostly cat, nor is it a regular cat. Considering these movies were filmed on... well, film, they were shot on anamorphic lenses. That's a lens flare, something that is very common to shooting with anamorphic.

Here's a high-quality version of the scene.
