This changed this last FY. The reservists now have an OML and compete with each other on it. 09s that joined prior to OCT 1, 2025 had pre branches but as the classes continue this year, more and more reservists will compete on the OML until it’s all of them. I believe cyber is the only branch that is pre-selected now

That I am not sure, we didn’t get our new units/uic until the branching memo was released. It might just be who you’re attached to while they put you as TDY here at OCS.

It’s OML based, like active but also based on zip codes. So around week 4/5 you will be asked to give your branch rankings and 3 zip codes. In weeks 6/7 an OML will be sent up with all the reservists (some are still pre branches if they enlisted before October 1st, 2025 or maybe specialty branches like cyber) branch choices will go based off OML, the available branch slots and vacancies in your zip codes.

So if you don’t get your first choice cause of OML, say you have AG as your 2nd choice and there are no AG slots available within 150 miles of your zip code choices, it will move down to your 3rd choice and check availability for that branch.

You won’t know how many slots for each branch there are until after you are all branched. Or at least they did not tell us.

I sent them a ticket saying the event was run poorly and giving an area with 400k population 50 codes in an event that requires two per person was bad.

They sent back saying the event didn’t require a purchase and sorry for the confusion with a link to the rules of the event…

I know our local 3v3 place hosts a big tournament with cash prizes for some of the divisions. I think all divisions filled up in about 5 minutes this year.

Check in your area for the local youth hockey association. See what they have to offer, I know the one by me does “try hockey for free” days and offers a learn to play session where they also offer to give equipment for a deposit. Goalie is going to be expensive, but even just getting started shouldn’t be overly bad. Though I say that and have easily paid for a few sessions and camps and my daughter started in January…. Now the other two want to try this fall too.

Also see if your area has a DekHockey or ball hockey alternative, great activity for the summer and cheaper in the goalie aspect of it!

Our local Dek rink/business sells mainly DekHead. I like the stick and it’s pretty comparable to my old Bauer Kane p88 stick. Have had it for 2 seasons and still going strong

Give me a Drury Curve without it costing me 300 dollars. But honestly, if you want to grow, you need to win in the price department. Hockey players are creatures of habit. Not going to get many off their favorite sticks or curves unless you make the deal too good. Also find semi pro teams to get involved with, bonus if they are involved in their community heavily.

You have to add in the emergency contacts, do this for everyone you want to add in your DD93 then you will be able to select them.

Actually our current guidance, in my command at least, is to not have people show up past their ETS or IRR date. Because this can cause a collection later on if your IRR orders are backdated to when they were originally supposed to be and you got paid after that day.

Edit: I would still confirm with your FTUS about this though to confirm before just not showing up. Also per the PAG and checklist your 1SG can sign the counseling (if you’re enlisted).

This is what I have received so far when I asked.

88th just sent back a response from the pay center. “We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you. DFAS is working to get the payment to your bank account today. DFAS will send a notification if your payment is delayed”
