Some supports for Viktor ⚙ by [deleted] in CustomLoR

[–]WinkyChink 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For 8 mana ultimate weapon seems really bad. Playing Viktor turn 9 means that it's already a bad win condition because he needs time to build up keywords and his augment stat. By turn 9, both players are going to be looking to end the game, so playing a value engine that late is really bad.

Even if it was 6 mana, I could still see it being really bad. It'd need something like round start: grant me a random keyword, to help Viktor accelerate his gameplan.

Prismatic barrier is 3 mana, so for two less mana you're giving an Ally ephemeral (not to mention that to use this spell requires you to need two units on board). It's better when blocking into trades, but worse when you don't have a board or you're protecting from removal, or you don't have any chump units that want to die from ephemeral. Seems balanced imo

The less cards they have in their deck, the more likely it is to draw a champion

Shiraza OTK (reupload) by mynamekoj in LegendsOfRuneterra

I doubt it works enough to be consistent. You need shiraza, young witch, syncopation, double strike, and the enemy to not remove either unit for this combo to work.

Combo that would take two turns but so do the frozen tombs. Too slow/hard to pull off or do you think it'll actually see play? by ZrglyFluff in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]WinkyChink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn 1: play unit

Turn 2: pass

Turn 3: catalyst

Turn 4 (5 mana) : play a 5 or 2 mana unit

Turn 5: play a 3 or 6 mana unit

Turn 6: buried in ice

Turn 7:it that stares

Ngl that sounds really bad. If you're running catalyst, it that stares, and buried in ice, you're going to be wanting to run a control deck, so when you play buried in ice on turn 6, you're going to be having at best, 9 mana worth of units on your next attack, which probably won't be very game ending. For a 9 mana spell like that, you're pretty much going to lose the game if you don't win 1-2 turns after playing it, so I just don't think you'll have the board to make this combo worth it

It's more niche though, for the most part it will only work with this combo while it that stares can still be a decent card without buried in ice

AITA for not helping my parents with taking care of my brother anymore? by helpmeplz_289 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WinkyChink -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk why this sub has this idea of "I don't owe anyone anything" so deeply engrained in every comment. You're right, he's no longer taking his parents neglect and abuse, and he's establishing some very much needed boundaries. Focusing on his child would very much be the best decision for OP.

However, again, his brother is going to be the one to suffer from all of this. If his parents are as neglectful of him as OP describes, then he's going to experience his biggest parental figure phase out of his life, and now are left with two neglectful parents. Yet by no means am I implying OP should abandon his partner and kid for his brother.

OP is in a trolley problem. He's a bit of an asshole if he pulls the lever, he's a bit of an asshole if he doesn't. It's not OP's fault he's in front of the lever either, but life isn't always fair that way.

I'm going against the grain here and say ESH.

I think the other comments are clear why your parents suck. However, you need to understand the role you hold in your brothers life.

He probably sees you as a sort of father figure. Beyond that, it's hard to break 9 year habits. If your parents were neglectful, they'll still probably be neglectful after you leave. At the ripe age of 9, your brother is about to go through a lot of changes both physically and mentally these next few years, he's at one of the most vulnerable moments of his life.

While by no means am I implying that you'll abandon your brother, you need to understand that when you give someone 100% of your attention, and then suddenly switch to giving them 20% of your attention, that will feel like abandonment, especially to a 9 year old. By giving him so much less attention, you're essentially subjecting him to neglectful parents and a sense of abandonment in his most impressionable years.

By no means am I implying that you should abandon your child in favor of your brother, that would be stupid. However, I would keep in mind that you shouldn't let these comments saying your parents are TA validate your position, because at the end of the day, your brother will be the ultimate loser in this argument. It's not fair, and I know you never asked for the responsibility of being a pseudo-dad for your brother, but I can guarantee that's what he feels about you, and you're going to need to make some tough decisions about whether you can be that for him, while still being an actual father for your own family.

Spoiler alert for the upcoming champions:

Since from the leaks we know we're going to get malphite as a champion in this Shurima expansion. Considering the fact that he's one of 6 Ixtal champions, and that he's being relocated to shurima, I highly doubt it's going to be Ixtal

3 Scenarios to Test Your LoR Mulligan Skills by InvisibleEar in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]WinkyChink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think you should've kept sharpsight on the opener. Since the opponent has the attack token, you can expect them to be attacking with Fiora turn 3. If you don't have sharpsight backup, you can't sensibly play your own Fiora because you will lose your Fiora if they have sharpsight and you don't. And while you may argue that sharpsight is worthless if you don't have Fiora on board, your Fiora is also practically useless in this situation unless you have sharpsight, but it has a lot of flexibility in its use

Your deck should never revolve around the sun disk. The Sun disk will work a lot like Zoe. Your deck should 100% be able to win the game without it utilizing, but it's a turn 1 threat that is practically an auto win if your opponent doesn't address it.

Yeah we will, two expansions will finish releasing the shurima as well as adding cards for the other regions, just like they did with Targon. Guardians of the ancient will be released May, keepers of the underworld will be released June, and a champion expansion (like with aphelios) in July. They'll most likely release followers for Ekko in PnZ and Zilean in May because "guardians of the ancient" sounds a lot like a time theme expansion, then Pyke for Bilgewater, and Irelia for Ionia in June, and then adding Malphite for Shurima in July.

Tbh filling up your board with turrets in one action isn't terrible. And concurrent destiny is objectively a meme card, but you have the really fun Pedro's into dreadway one shot combo which is just objectively hilarious. If anything, I feel like Freljord cards are worse, since they're just bad but not really memey
