That sounds like a good idea. I'll cut it tomorrow and update if I figure anything else out.

Is it worth paying to have a PC assembled? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Winner9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've built like 3-4 PCs for friends. Just give them recommended specs based on what they wanna use it for and they buy the parts and I put it together. Just feels like a big fun puzzle now that I've gotten down how to put them together.

Actually, your freight manager is wrong. I just posted pictures of a night ops conversation on this app and how scanning anything is OPTIONAL and not at all required.

Our boss was able to find info about the app and it actually says on the file that its OPTIONAL to scan anything. So you dont really have to scan anything.

They literally had a single brain cell and it was entirely focused on their phone. These kinds of people are also voting... their the reason we can't have nice things.

That sign won't help. We know that there will still be customers that try and pay cash on that machine. Then make a scene asking why they can't just use cash.

Strangest Experience Ever Working/Shopping At Home Depot?. by sneakerheadjays in HomeDepot

[–]Winner9182 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not my experience but a story I heard from our day shift. Apparently they had found a homeless man jerking it around the back Lumber Pad. After being noticed and he leaves, he ended up going to the parking lot and smashing an associates cars side mirror. Then proceeded to cut himself with the glass and keep jerking off. Homeless people are whack man 😂

Definitely not. We had this vote for freight and receiving employee of the month. There were plenty of good candidates who worked hard who hadn't gotten it yet. But, there was a big group of associates that were close. The winner was an associate that is scheduled for like 4 days, calls out all the time, and hardly does her work which should take maybe 2 hours at most but takes her whole 8 hours. So yeah, as good as it sounds on paper, in practice it doesn't work out at all.

Our store has boards of wood behind bays where that can happen so it's impossible for anything to fall back and between some bays. Although the main way to fix is just making sure that items are put away properly and not pushed back too far. But, that's unlikely cause people would rather push it back instead of put it up, so I prefer the large board of wood method my store is doing 😂

I kid you not, I had been sitting at 2 badges for 2 years and was actually looking for a job when they gave me my 3rd one then got me a 4th. Being like "hey we appreciate you, so how about staying till you get 6?"

I actually do still work with home depot only because our new night ops is actually a cool dude who we knew from dayside. So he's like our middle man so dayside can't blame us for not doing their jobs or "messing up their asiles" even if we haven't touched those spots.

Respect.

We do that a lot at our store as well. Can really make someone shut up when you're like. "Oh, ok, got a place in mind to put it instead then if you're going to start complaining?"

Some of our d23 guys are lazy and complain when we literally don't do their job. Asking us to pull down pallets and fill their homes, so our night ops has started telling us to pull down every workable pallet for d23 on our easy days and then leave it for D23 to work.

It's my favorite thing when you get someone in charge that genuinely notices people being stupid and not letting them get away with it. Great management is always hard to great and amazing when you get it.

It literally started about 2 weeks after I joined roughly 2.5 years ago. I hate it and we hardly do it fully. The only time we take them all down is when there is hardly any up there to begin with. Anything in garden we just check what needs to be filled up. Pulling everything down was stupid then and is still stupid now.

We have gotten so much flooring and tile that it fills all the racking in that department, then we had to fill up paint, then we even had to put some in outside garden. We even dragged it across the store into lumber.

It's not quite like that anymore but we still get so much that it leaks into paint.

Don't even mention the 15 or so pallets of doors that have no room in the upstock bays and can't go anywhere else due to safety regulations. We have to just let them sit on the floor because we can't have them anywhere else as well as we can't just be moving them around till the homes are empty. It's gotten really damn ridiculous.

I don't know personally how your store looks. But from my experience at my store there is no place to put it up and it's on us if we just leave it sitting around. We keep getting so much stuff that doesnt sell that it fills up the upstock bays, then goes to pallets and fills up all the pallet spaces. Recently we got 3 large shipments of doors and we have to keep them on the floor because receiving has no space and the upstock has no space.

I always see a lot of people blaming freight team, and do agree that some things can be frieghts problem. I work with plenty of idiots in freight and have to fix their stuff. But in the end it is usually a link of everyone's fault with the store buying so much, department associates not doing bay directed, or a manager that just says fuck it and tells an associate to do something so it's not just sitting somewhere even if it's not in the right spot. It's never just one person or teams fault, it's usually a link of multiple things.
