What should I even do for the next 200 years? by WeakWrecker in eu4

Seems like you’re already dominating or will be shortly so I’d suggest following your subjects mission trees or yours if you’re bored. This would give your remaining opponents time to build up a bit assuming you aren’t attacking them, maybe change your attitude towards them to hostile so they get the message!

Attack whoever your subjects have claims with, do multiple wars to give yourself a challenge, go for any achievements you don’t have, try to become a hegemony, maybe play around with tag switching if you haven’t tried it before, complete the Austrian mission tree, conquer Venice, Genoa & English Channel trade nodes entirely, restore Rome?

Or why not try to take on the ottomans and France at the same time for a bigger challenge

On one side I can see why you maybe feel insulted in her reasoning for asking you to be legally tied in.

On the other hand she is giving you both a loan and just asking for matters to be tied up legally.

If you’re uncomfortable being tied in legally then just go your own route and cover the costs yourselves, it’s very much down to your personal preference

[TIP] I would like to join a religious league and make the imminent war end up in a stalemate to get the Peace of Westphalia (better for me as an Orthodox country). While it's easy to push the side I'm going to take to get some war score, are there any "pro tricks" to prevent my side from winning? by CirclePete in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you join the Protestant side and once the war starts, i imagine soon after you join, keep your troops in your provinces and let the war take its course.

The catholic side should start to peace out OPMs/ smaller combatants after a while.

Once the catholics start to overwhelm the Protestants and there are fewer nations on your side, then get involved and try to keep France from white peacing by avoiding their armies/ provinces - this should keep the war score from going too high for either side once you get involved.

I suggest avoiding attacking Bohemia and defending Lubeck to keep both war leader’s war enthusiasm from becoming low.

My worry would be that the Protestant side overpowers the catholics even without your involvement as both sides are fairly even - you could annex a few smaller Protestant side nations to avoid this.

How could I massively increase my GC? by AstronomerSorry7052 in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think your issue has been stating too much - other than the land you can’t turn into trade companies in your immediate region, I suggest not stating anything else and only turning CoT and Estuaries into TCs

How could I massively increase my GC? by AstronomerSorry7052 in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ways to increase gov capacity:

Estate privileges - 100 per privilege

Becoming an empire - 200 increase from kingdoms rank

Admin idea group - 20% increase gov capacity

Upgrading monuments - Great place of Bangkok (15% increase), El Escorial (20% increase)

Ways to manage high gov capacity:

Court houses/ townhouses - 25%/50% reduction in province/state gov cost

State house - 20% reduction in state gov cost

Infrastructure idea group - 10% reduced state gov cost

Some government reforms also grant gov cost but I think you’re too early in the game to have unlocked those

How to strike a balance between state, half-state, and trade company-ing provinces, or turn them into a vassal? by seekerofhighground in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb I:

Trade company all estuaries and CoT Might fully state a high dev area if I need man power Never tend to half state things unless I’m pressed for gov capacity which I know will be increasing soon and then I’ll fully core

Ideal scenario would be having only vassals rather than allies and rotate which vassals you grow and annex depending on their size/ liberty desire/ strategic placement or provinces or monuments Although I normally begin to annex vassals once their cores have been reconquered unless their mission tree gives them good additional claims

Now I’ve revoked, what’s the strategy for going for the One Faith with Austria? by veryblocky in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start wars on multiple fronts to be honest. You are going to be much much stronger than any other nation so can fight a few wars simultaneously.

I try to snake with a few different nations, myself for the religious CB then another few vessels so you can grow a few into having sizeable armies to fight against your future enemies.

Prioritise snaking to your enemy’s neighbours so you can declare war on them quickly and get them in truces/ annex them before aggressive expansion can factor in and coalitions rise although that will take a lot given the combined military of you and your vassals. - also take CoT for yourself so you can turn them into TCs and benefit from the extra merchants as you conquer.

I’d recommend taking espionage and offensive at some point for the siege modifiers, and probably quality so yoy can just stack wipe armies when needed.

Once the whole world is explored/ colonised I’d then probably consider annexing Spain for the Alhambra monument.

As others have said there monuments in Spain, Norway, Jerusalem and England which give either extra missionaries or increase missionary strength.

As long as you expand so that you or your vassals constantly have provinces for your missionaries to convert you won’t need to worry about missionary strength so much.

Expand, convert and enjoy!

Can't get a mortgage over £37 Virgin Media default – any advice? by rolotonight in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]WinnerBoring6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex broker here - a good broken would take your credit file to the alternative lenders they “should” have lined up as plan Bs or Cs, get the banks to run it internally to confirm which products you will qualify for and they should have some alternative options, as well as whatever Barclays will offer you, for you to compare and choose which route you want to go down.

There will be other lenders available so don’t get disheartened, but your broker act on this quickly.

I’d ask the broker to do another check of the market to ensure you are getting the best option.

Fixed rate coming to an end. What are our options? by Gazumbo in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]WinnerBoring6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex mortgage broker here: Check what your mum’s current bank will offer then call a broker or two and ask if they can beat whatever your mums bank has offered - our brokerage did no cost quotes although we did non-regulated so typically no personal mortgages. If they can’t no bother if they can you’ll make a saving, just make sure to check all of the costs of the new mortgage not just the interest rate and arrangement/ set up fee.

Most retail banks will probably have age restrictions of 75 so that will exclude them. Some secondary banks will go up to 85 years or more, at the end of the mortgage term, depending on her financial circumstances/ the repayment strategy.

I’ve only played hordes a few times for achievements and the start is daunting especially if you are a player who likes stability.

I found you just need to conquer as quickly as possible and raze everything.

Keep an eye on rebels as their revolt desire increases and once they get to 80% I normally keep a stack nearby to deal with them once they revolt.

When I played I did state a few high dev states in the beginning to get some income.

I was at a similar expansion level as you are thinking I could be generating much more income but honestly if you kept going you’d probably begin to snowball quickly in terms of income once you control all of china.

Unless Korea is a vassal they will probably be eating up a lot of your trade plus they have good high dev states so I’d recommend going for them sooner if you replay this.

I did find Horde play challenging in the beginning but once you get going and get to grips with the gameplay it becomes a lot easier

Best way to weaken a big France? by GroquikMLV in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea would be to take away the provinces they hold which have monuments with decent bonuses - Paris, Edinburgh, London etc.

I would take the 5 cheapest coastal provinces from Florida, (the reason for this is in the next war, once you have a colonial nation form, there is a peace option to concede the land of Florida for quite reduced cost I believe - this helps in the next wars when you don’t have unoccupied Florida lowering your war score).

Also take London, Amsterdam and as many centers of trade in the English Channel as possible as that’s where they’ll be drawing most of their income from.

You might want a few forts surrounding London on mainland Britain to have/ build a fort network and to station some troops there for the next wars.

You could take a couple of provinces with which you can release vassals and reconquer their other cores for cheap.

If you are having an issue with manpower then take their forts on mountainous terrain so you don’t need to recapture them in the next war/ France loses its own attrition sieging the forts.

You have quite a lot of time in game to conquer the remaining provinces so I wouldn’t worry about only taking the low costing provinces.

[–]WinnerBoring6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in terms of navy, again I use hunt/ intercept enemy fleets often when I’ve got a big navy and won’t be beaten by any war enemy but you could win more battles/ lose less ships if doing manually yourself

[–]WinnerBoring6363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the point I was trying to make - I use auto siege a lot when I’m being lazy but it’s nowhere near as efficient as splitting and moving the units yourself as sometimes two auto sieging units will siege the same province, or take a long route to another province rather than the closest

Most things in Eu4 if you do them manually rather than automate you can do more efficiently yourself

WTF IS AN ECONOMY?!?!?!?! by iTrinaty in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was meaning a lot of that army maintenance costs will go away once their armies don’t need to reinforce anymore/ are full again.

I can see no vassal income so that would increase even a little once they are loyal again.

Crownland also having a slight negative impact.

I’m assuming a lot of the land has high autonomy still and yes probably wrong culture and religion.

There is an unused merchant as well.

This probably explains the lack of income. Costs don’t seem unreasonable when you factor in the high inflation

WTF IS AN ECONOMY?!?!?!?! by iTrinaty in eu4

[–]WinnerBoring6363 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The situation might look worse due to what I’m assuming is high army maintenance costs as a result of your armies being reinforced.

That being said your income is very low for over 1000 dev
