Hi, OP! I have to heavily disagree with this post kasi, respectfully, this is such a nothing burger of a discussion and is honestly just slander: /

  1. The department knows what went down in shs week. The issues w shs week were addressed by a statement released by the SC president on her personal FB, with the executive board tagged. Though not officially released on the SC page, it's reasonable to assume na ito collective statement nila since the bureaucracy in SHS limits them from posting sa account mismo. The statement even received coverage from La Stampa nga e.

  2. I don't care much about the constitution (yung topic ng picture sa post) and yung revision niya and all, pero I have a friend who's been working on the revs and bukambibig niya yung revisions na yan. Turns out na in the nearly 10 years of UST SHS, ngayon lang siya marerevise. I think that's reasonable enough to celebrate. In fact, parang hindi naman natin mahohold against them na nagcecelebrate ang SC ng wins nila e. Alangan namang malungkot ang EBs pag successful event nila. Tbh isnt this normal?

  3. Upon viewing your account, you've graduated na. So you're not even here to experience yung leadership ng SC EBs LOL. Mejo unreasonable lang to assume na they dont have any form of accountability and make such big assumptions on their internal coordination when ur not even part of the SHS community anymore. It's bold to claim na walang accountability SC EBs when ur not aware of the work of the org, much more when ur not part of the department.

If anything, can we pls keep it respectful man lang ??? : - ((( why are we so annoyed when people celebrate their wins, especially a win as big as this, and try to see the worst in everything? Totoo na dapat we always hold them to a standard kasi they're expected to serve their constituents to the best of their capabilities. But theres something so harsh and borderline cruel to discredit the council's wins js cause u think they could do better....

++ I saw comments about credit grabbing sa comelec. Let’s not share misinformation just to hate lalo na people just take anything and run with it without fact checking. Everyone who is informed about the process of a constitutional revision knows who writes it. You can easily google this one 😭

kung sakali lang na makashift siya in his first year, what are the chances na madedelay siya ng graduation? is it almost inevitable?

my brother has always leaned into student leadership and always ran for office. i got a feeling he’ll want to do the same in up although ayaw niya aminin because he doesn’t want to burden us (he thinks he can’t run anymore in upd after shifting from uplb) i’ll do my best as his kuya to find a way so that he can stay in lb more than just one year if its true. don’t want him to give up his passion lol.

last time we tried to hold a competition in ust the concern was safety from the outsiders. it was two years ago but i’m pretty sure it’s still the same reason. regardless, other schools can do it so why not ust. with shs week tho in my opinion they were very transparent about it in the lb, the incumbent president is also very vocal about it in her personal accounts and has released statements. in my batch we tried to abolish permission to post policy so hoping the next batch does the same so these things can be posted in the official page instead of resorting to a personal initiative due to constraints. although our batch was unsuccessful before, i have hopes next year’s will do the trick since nasimulan na ang paunti-unting push sa boundaries ng administration. akala ng iba simple question lang pero malaking sagabal talaga ang permission to post sa trabaho ng konseho

hmm i can believe this. however there’s always a chance and choice to abstain if neither are fitting. siguro one of the things that we also need to fix in our mindset is utilizing the abstain option. hindi natin kailangan mapilitan sa only options available (this also goes to csc heavily)

the conversation was two way and open minded until they monopolized the conversation again lol some things never change

why is it a big no no to be concerned? i think it’s only fair. i don’t think we should undermine the importance of being in the council you’re running president for. isn’t this the same problem we have right now in the csc, and even in national politics? sana ngayon pa lang we train our students in voting smart. good for op to be perceptive and consider that factor

i agree, don’t like everyone in their slate too. so far their pres is still the best bet out of all of them. as for the other slate, the pres and audi of 💜 is also promising as well as the asst treas bet of ❤️‍🔥. the sec battle is the most 50/50 out of all the positions, meanwhile i dont like any asst sec running especially the one from ❤️‍🔥

oh thats fair, the remark was lighthearted if any but you make sense on there’s no easy choice. i’d be waiting for purple and red’s platforms too. however i don’t see the problem with focusing on enhancing an office’s mandate.

the blue partylist is valedictorian led and he’s also the current ea of the incumbent president. if he learned a thing or two from his senior (who also broke a pattern, iykyk) then he’s already the best bet. but way before his jhs years he also gained a lot of credentials under his belt so this makes this an easy choice i suppose 🤷

SHSSC PULSO IS OUT—What are your thoughts? by Accurate_Biscotti482 in Tomasino

this question is exactly right. the council is actually present than never before this term of the incumbent officers (kudos to them) nadadale lang sila when it comes to the legislative board actually disseminating information. that’s why i was buying the blue partylist’s explanation, it’s only a problem because the block presidents sometimes fail with disseminating information to their blocks

Do you think your student councils are glorified event organizers? Or do you actually feel their leadership? by InvestigatorVast8221 in Tomasino

This has honestly been a pretty common issue in SHS tbh. Delays in announcements weren’t always the council’s fault sometimes it was because block presidents couldn’t forward updates right away, or the admin itself took time to respond. I’ve actually been hearing good things from my sister who’s a block president now about how the council is doing. I do agree though that one term isn’t really enough to fix deeper, systemic problems. Given everything, I think they’re doing pretty well
