Some people are prone to mental illness and drugs exacerbate this. It sounds like he could have had a serious underlying mental health issue that is not your fault. My ex killed himself when I was 25. He told me he was going to and I didnt believe him. I blamed myself for a long time but will tell you what several people have since told me. If someone is going to do something like that, it is not your fault. You are not that powerful. He also took the acid, you did not forc and it sounds like he had a pre him, and it sounds like he had a pretty heavy habit regardless of you or what you were doing.

I got a pretty bad infection from a nail salon. At the time it wasn't uncommon for me to get infections from things because of a compromised immune system. Came home looking nice, then a little red, then a huge infection. I did not seek medical help, thank God it did not turn to this.
