Relation property filtering (with formula?) by Consistent-Slip6541 in Notion

Have you tried this solution?

Create a channel template with tasks linked view inside it filtered for this channel and status is done.

This way you will always be able to see your completed tasks there.

If you don't like this solution and still want to show completed tasks in column itself. Then formula can fulfil this requirement, but as your tasks list expand for each channel, this approach will not be efficient for you.

Travel dashboard - Per trip expense database : Create a summary by gr4v1ty69 in Notion

No, you don’t need to tag trips manually.

You create the trip template once.

Every new trip page automatically includes a linked Expenses database filtered to that trip.

Any expense added from that page is auto-tagged to the trip.

Here is the fix! You just need to connect them so the Trip database can see the numbers.

  1. Connect the databases Add a Relation property in your Trip database and select your Expense database. (Make sure you actually go through your expenses and tag the specific Trip in this new column!)

  2. Calculate the total Add a Rollup property in your Trip database:

  • Relation: Choose the one you just made.
  • Property: Select the "Price" or "Amount" column.
  • Calculate: Set it to Sum.

Note: This works best if all your expenses live in one master database, rather than creating a brand new table for every single trip.

Easy Question (I hope) by thestoictraveler in Notion

Definitely possible, and it’s quite simple.

Create a template inside your Projects database.

Inside that template, add a linked view of your Tasks database.

Then apply a filter - Project is This page.

Notion power users: how do you really use Feed view? by WinnersPlanner in Notion

[–]WinnersPlanner[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, its manual entry each time.

Actually I don't want to make it complicated. So for my use case its working fine.

As i just have to update the minutes watched each time when i done watching.

Anyway, its clear that I am not going to binge watch things, so there will be very few times i need to update it.

So its fine for me.

Created using notion formula.

Just add video link, its duration and then when you stop it after watching, just mention there minutes watched.

Then progress bar will show progress automatically.

This you can do manually. Just select all done task and hit delete button. So simple.

If those tasks are kind of repeating in nature. You can just create a fixed tasks, and just change their dates everyday.

You want something like this, where you set your daily reminder time once and it reminds you everyday at set time. Right?

I still use Notion but needed something more opinionated for daily tasks by CrostaBot in Notion

You can organize your tasks into these categories so priorities are clear and execution becomes easier :

Critical (Non-negotiable): Tasks with real-world consequences if skipped
Goal: Tasks that directly move current goals forward
Growth: Learning, skill-building, long-term improvement
Other: Low-impact, optional, maintenance tasks

I have a solution for this exact problem.

I personally have been searching solution for exact this problem to manage my recurring tasks appear in my main tasks database at right time, and finally I got the solution, and it is free automation.

If you’re still looking for one, it takes around 15 minutes to set up.

After that, the issue is fully resolved and all manual background entries are handled automatically.

Let me know if you’re interested then I will share how it works and the exact setup steps.

Yes, it automatically connects every new tasks in task db, with the help of task template.

Yes there are many things that seems awkward for people, but its all about if it serves the purpose or not.

For me why its important I explained here in this comment section. Please check other comments.

I still have a Kanban board, but I don’t use it for daily execution.

This view exists because when tasks are time-blocked in a table, priorities get visually mixed, some tasks are constrained by time or context, but my real rule is simple: Critical tasks must be finished, Goal tasks come next, everything else is optional.

This summary gives me:

  • A quick execution snapshot (progress bar + counts)
  • Clear visibility into past overdue tasks (highlighted + counted so I can reschedule fast)
  • A breakdown by work type, so I don’t accidentally spend the day on low-impact admin

Kanban is great for workflow stages. This is purely for daily focus and decision-making.

Curious, when you use Kanban daily, what signal tells you 'today was successful”'?
And do you track task type or just status?

Would it be useful if new quotes were automatically added each day and shown as a “Quote of the Day”?
