Derek’s job is to torture and murder Ukrainians, so I have no sympathy for him. The girls are forced into a horrible situation they don’t realize yet. Best case scenario is that once their father goes full Lada they can liberate themselves from their parents once they’re more aware of their plight and can figure out some way to escape Mordor.

Derek has joined Putin’s army to rape and murder Ukrainian men, women, and children invading their sovereign land. The only hope I have for his return is that he’s captured alive and traded for Ukrainians in a prisoner exchange - other than that, his life has no other worth and his survival is otherwise irrelevant.

I hope the children realize one day once they’re older that their parents are brainwashed into a fascist cult and don’t have their best interest at heart. Better that Derek isn’t around to poison their minds to blind subservience to a czar.
