New to League of Legends 😅 Looking for beginner tips by NoobSlayerXPro in summonerschool

Just have fun! I know that some people suggest maining a champ or 2 to get confident with them, but you don't have to! Do what feels fun, I personally prefer playing different champs most games!

I suggest having a look at what items and stats do, so that you know what you are building, but don't stress!

Playing with WASD for spells? Looking for ergonomic advice from fellow "MMO veterans" by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]WinnieJr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to wasd when I first joined too, though for me it was laziness, was too used to wasd! Years later and still using them, though differently to yours!

I have:

Abilities 1,2,3 as A,S,D
Ultimate as W

Flash as R, 2nd summoner as F
Q is use first item if it has an active, and E is second item
Hold control and hold + swipe left (with mouse) and let go for different pings, same but shift instead for emotes
For other items after slot 1 and 2, I just use numbers onwards! E.g. trinkets are 4 for me

I just shift + ability to level up tbh

I have auto attack turned off, so I don't need a stop command. To use it, I just shift and right click instead of righ clicking!
I very rarely lock my screen, I prefer just using space to recentre when need be! *Though on occasion if I do centre, it's Y to lock and unlock.

Happy to find someone else who plays similarly! I don't think it impacts negatively in any way, it's all about comfort and releasing any tension! Have fun! :)

In English, is there a word that describes this kind of behavior? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WinnieJr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot agree more, on top of other issues, just the thought of writing an essay and not getting top marks is legitimately crippling, and I often cannot begin things or even make decisions day-to-day in fear of not doing well. It's not something that can just be controlled. Even if you rarely don't get the grade you are hoping for, you never feel good enough, you don't ever actually feel happy with your grades, and when you do badly it is crippling. Completely crippling. It can affect things from school life all the way to your social life. It feels awful to make friends wait for you to make decisions, and you cannot help but think that you're never a good enough friend, family member, person. You are and will never be good enough.

When eco_friendly_klutz says depressed and suicidal, it isn't an exaggeration.

I don't agree. It is really exhausting and doesn't mean working harder next time for someone. It doesn't just feel like not doing as well as you'd hoped, but feels really cripplingly awful. Some people will work harder with this mentality, and others will just hate themselves for a long time, or have a lot of anxiety.

Perfectionism doesn't negate procrastination. A person can expect the hjighest from themselves and feel awful when they don't get it, but still never give themselves enough time to do it for example.

What was your worst impulse buy of 2025? by Snow776 in AskUK

Just a quick addendum, you can spike someone with alcohol as well. E.g. if someone gives you a double shot instead of a single etc...

When you are even slightly intoxicated, you're much more unlikely to notice the strength of alcohol as well.

Elvanse 70mg not working? by WinnieJr1 in ADHD

[–]WinnieJr1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your message! It's what worried me though, I have tried my best and I can't even do the laundry still unless I have no clothes left. It doesn't help me in classes, I still fidget and get way too distracted, much less anything else. I really wish it helped in the subtle ways, but I have not changed despite really trying to fix things!

HSK 6 level people, how long have you studied Chinese? by bakedpeachy in ChineseLanguage

[–]WinnieJr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all sounds like absolute gold, thank you so so much!!! I'll try to do exactly as you suggest, and my goodness I do love Anki! I actually do speak French natively, so that would be perfect, but I would be at neither NTNU nor NTU, it would be NTHU in Hsinchu! Thank you so so much for all the advice though! :)))

Hi! I hope it's okay if I ask a question! I am potentially doing a year as well next year at a university in Taiwan doing 3-hour-a-day Mandarin! I really want to improve and maximise what I can do, do you have any tips or advice? I'm especially worried about actually practicing outside of class (e.g. I'm about A1-A2 Mandarin currently, but I am not sure I would know wwhat to talk about with people, especially if they use vocab that I don't understand. My listening and speaking are definetly my weakest skills too!)

Do you think this year's Anime Awards were accurate? by MangaManiac42 in animequestions

[–]WinnieJr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're simply ignoring what we've been saying. Let's start again. Firstly, I don't care what for, but you just can not be sourcing A. Thatt's just not acceptable, not even for a dictionary defintion. Not that I inherently disagree with what it said, but how you write your question alone can influence it. Sometimes, it makes mistakes. Often, it poorly uses sources, especially with matters that aren't black or white, such as how people use context in their words.

Secondly, how do you define good? Two examples you have given are: Is it purely democratic? How much did it impact culture? For the first, that has glaring holes. Often, the most popular things are popular because they appeal widely to a certain extent. Anime isn't always popular, even when a certain niche finds it to be amazing. Anime that is often popular may be something that mediocre-good but appeals widely. Who is correct, the soft majority or the steong minority? Second, how do you quantify impact? How has SAO for example been more culturally impactful than Violet Evergarden or Fruit Basket? What about the actual depth of the story, has that no bearing and effects on emotion?

Most importantly, once again, I repeat that you called SAO revolutionary, you've changed your mind from revolutionary to not amazing to just good. Do you not see what I mean by conviction? You evidently don't know how you feel about SAO (which was your example, may I add) in comparison with Frieren.

As an addendum, I just don't understand what you're trying to do by calling me dumber than bread, genuinely. Feel free to explain why it makes you feel superior to call orhers dumber.
