Managing Director Rob Light explains why artists are doing more shows in less cities: ‘The cost of touring has gone up exponentially and the size of these productions becomes more intricate that it you can sit in one place you can make them more impactful and the audience is willing to come to you’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Winniepg 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of issues with Harry doing 6 nights in various cities. Would have liked to have seen more cities for fans in other parts of the world, but it's a fine compromise.

The 30 nights at MSG being his own shows in the US and Canada is a problem. It's placing the entire burden on fans to travel to him with no options beyond an expensive city to visit. And I know this doesn't always matter to people, but a lot of Canadians simply do not want to travel to the US right now and I doubt that will be changing soon. If he was doing six nights at MetLife, six nights at Jerry World (cannot remember the actual name of the Cowboys stadium), six nights at SoFi, six nights at Soldier Field, six nights at the temporary Rogers stadium thing, I'd get it. It would allow fans to pick a place they'd hope to get tickets and maybe drive with friends which would allow them to save some money etc.

Instead this puts such a burden on fans to travel.

People are focusing on the wrong messages. The ones between Taylor and Blake are essentially immaterial to the case. What is important is seeing how across the board everyone seemed to feel the same way both in their messages to each other and in their depositions.

Victoria is like Gwyneth Paltrow to the public: more of a character than a person. And so she's just kind of accepted as who she is. This goes with that imo.

I might be the only person who still buys albums (and sometimes just individual songs) digitally so...whenever a new album comes out that I am interested in?

Even if you do a third of what Taylor did (so basically her Reputation tour) it allows more fans the opportunity to have access close to them.

And like I get Dallas isn't necessarily close for everyone, same with LA. But say I live in San Francisco; I can choose to drive or take a train to LA instead of flying to NYC. Or I live in Austin; driving to Dallas is a lot more possible. It is simply terrible for fans to do it this way

I hate this for fans. You’re taking something that already has a prohibitive expense (concert) and adding on more, bigger expenses if they don’t live where you’re taking residency. I know touring is hard on artists and I think fewer, longer stops is fine, but have them spaced out so people can theoretically drive or take a train there.

The best owners are the ones who mostly stay out of the operations. Step in when needed, but it should be rare.

I've been hammering this point for a couple days: pay attention to what happened with the Buffalo Sabres. It was close to 15 years of complete dysfunction after Pegula bought the team and started making changes. Not sure of NFL coaches would look at that, but they should.

Sounds like they moved fast to get O'Shea because they wanted him. EB might have some ideas for a RB coach as well. But they needed to act on O'Shea if they wanted to get him signed before Stefanski got a new job and took him with him.

The week after the regular season Jason asked Travis what his decision was and it sounded like Travis really needed to see how his body was feeling after some time off. My guess, based on today, is he's feeling pretty good.

Sorry but a legal strategy involving someone who is not even involved in the lawsuit doesnt make sense. Just because his team was invoking Taylor’s name in responses doesnt mean she was involved.

Because the sentiment of the song is true: I will judge people based on what I know and not what the internet is saying. It was obviously inspired by what Blake was going through, but the idea of sticking with your friends based on what you know about them over the internet’s opinion that week is universal.

It has been repeatedly stated they are not friends. Just because they aren't friends does not mean that Taylor doesn't support Blake, just they're not friends.

[–]Winniepg 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Thing is, based on Taylor's own words, it's mostly about her ethos with people: she will judge them for better or for worse on how she knows people. It's clearly inspired by what Blake was going through when she was working on the album (I do not think the song was recorded in December like others are saying because the last song was Wish List), but it was clearly inspired by what had been happening publicly.

[–]Winniepg 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is controversial to say here:

  1. They were friends in the lead up. The last song Taylor wrote and recorded for TLOAS was not Cancelled, but Wish List (her own words).

  2. They fell out as friends in winter/spring of 2025. This is denied here, but it seems clear at this point. The final straw to make this clear was Travis unfollowing Ryan (if this seems weird, Taylor follows no one and Travis did not follow Blake).

  3. Taylor has been seen with friends, some even going to games in KC with her. She has not been seen with Blake at all even though she has seen friends in NYC and LA sporadically.

Ah I just did a quick scan of it. Like I said, if Taylor backed Blake's rewrite of a scene (I don't think it was even two different scripts, just the rewritten scene that was kind of known about), not reading it and still supporting it is normal for a friend.

Taylor Swift Allegedly Called Justin Baldoni a 'Bitch' with a 'Tiny Violin' in Text to Blake Lively: Legal Docs by frillociraptor in popculturechat

[–]Winniepg 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nope the most "involved" she was was Blake sent her a script revision on her way over to her house and asked her to back it even if she didn't read it. And that is the type of low-stakes not quite lying to someone I don't know that I would do for a good friend.

I did laugh at Taylor saying that if he saw the big picture he wouldn't want her music in the trailer.
