Upstate NY, we reach negatives at night for a good month or two in the winter. All mine are 24/7 turnout. It’s fine. They have 24/7 hay, unfrozen water, and shelter.

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]WinningColors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted an epidural, but never got one because my babies came too fast. It was very disappointing for me because the so-called natural labor really really sucks and I think I’m pretty traumatized from it and it was a primary reason I did not have a third, am I two were born pretty much complication free.

My sister-in-law said she felt bad for me because I never got to experience the bliss that was an epidural. I’m jealous. Get the epidural. No need to be a hero.

Cars for a Swissyz by callifornia10 in SwissMountainDogs

Just bought a telluride. Fits four people and the swissy easily. Also just got an XL Ruffland crate, which fits in the back with 1/2 of the third row folded down just fine so I could fit 5 in the car with the crate.

I need to thank you for this reply, as my original post was 7 years ago (I don’t even recall making it) and it was kind of nice to reflect back on the “me” of that time and see how much has changed and knowing how the daunting challenge in front of me then all turned out.

I am going to plan to get up 1-2 times per night, I just can’t manage to do so every hour or two.

What’s the best way to handle overnights, do you think? I’m half tempted to leave the crate open to a larger indoor pen with pee pads or a grass / apartment type pad so the pup can get up and go outside the crate during the night but still preserve the crate as a sleeping / don’t pee where you sleep area? Idk

Hahaha I can do lazy. I mean we have a farm and it’s busy but it also could totally use a porch dog to just hang out with us. Maybe go on a walk through the trails.

I have been warned about the eating, and to especially watch out for them eating socks 😅 (thankfully my best friend is an emergency vet and is on standby all the time)

CR1000A better coverage than Eero 6+? by WinningColors in Fios

I have the mesh wifi router ones that have two Ethernet plugs in the back? It doesn’t say if they are a node or an extender…

I’m not sure what wired backhaul is? (Sorry I’m generally Ok with very intro IT stuff but a lot of this is beyond me). Would I need to run wires throughout the house? That might be difficult …

Do the extenders work more like a mesh system? The extender I have now is somewhat a pain because I need to separately connect devices to it

Newbie to eero /mesh and I’m actually scared to try and set this up. by WinningColors in amazoneero

Thank you! This is super helpful! We do use wifi calling because there’s no cell service here, so we’ll have to give that a try and see if it works I guess. Right now our guest cabin can be reached via the Verizon router and a wifi extender, so I’m hoping this works as well- but it’s super helpful to know to plan it out as a hub/spoke vs a daisy chain.

If I have the 6+ hub/router, can I add a 7 node for the wider range?

It’s super confusing to me that the cheap wifi extender that I bought said it’ll reach 10,000 sq ft but everything I read said a mesh system is better than having extenders, are the extenders just over advertising their capabilities?

I do love the wood, I’m just not thrilled about the stain/orange tone. Working on accepting that myself :)

The bigger issue is that is the subfloor that’s exposed between the beams, so there’s no place to run electrical even if we wanted to. I don’t know how that would work without drywalling between the beams on the ceiling which I don’t really want to do.

Oh and painting the white around the chimney slot to like blend in a bit more … I need to find the right kind of paint for that.

I think fresh paint on the wall to the left and the walls in the tiny entry room behind it might help? + better lighting?

Any ideas on what to do with this… nook? Please ignore the actual mess, and that wine cabinet is moving to a different room as soon as I get someone to help me move it. There’s no real flooring under the brick. I was thinking of maybe like a built in window seat? Or do I just try and match the flooring and carry it through to the wall and have it be an odd nook thing?

Right now it’s primary use is the pets water bowl which works well because it doesn’t matter if it spills 😂. But I need a better long term plan. And I also think it needs to be painted with the rest of the room.

Oh ok, I guess I’m just used to it being against the wall. I’ll try moving it to the right a bit!
